Creatures of the state, but ...I spoke to some one who was there in 1981....he is pretty sure that there is no legal way for the gortt to unilaterally pull funds, and is sure govt doesn’t own UTC.
So that negates Gortt as shareholders....direct,indirect or as corporation sole.

The entity was created by an act...but is a LLC.

I have not found UTC on any list of state enterprises on the MoF website or anywhere.

I think what you really need it some kind of majority agreement with regards to how well we can shut down and shelter or hunker down.

I doubt though because as we've learned a lot of folks are living on a shoestring and just don't have the ability to sustain themselves long term. So another lock down might be great for the arresting of the spread but it will not be easy for many folks economically.

You are now going forward asking persons to chose between life and livelihood but given what we saw from the first lock down BOTH those 2 things are NOT separate. Any lock down is asking folks to give up their livelihood to spare life however without a livelihood your life becomes threatened.

The only way to try to make the lock down palatable is to probably have some kind of "relief check" or "grant", but that would depend of the available funds and the governments' willingness. It would also have to be quick and timely, if not you may find persons continuing to operate in a manner that defies the lock down. This would again be a problem as spread may be possible and worst now as it is "underground" making it difficult to track.

Ideally what you want is a well educated population, a well funded health care system with a robust (not excessive) state funded safety net.

Bad idea for any government.

NIS doesn't really have customers. You have to pay in by law. You can't withdraw shiet.

UTC does have "customers", but your account is denominated in shareholder units and not any currency value. You could withdraw, but with a steep hair cut as your unit value drops. The investment value would be relatively unaffected long term - as you still own whatever assets they had before + whatever assets get put into the National Infrastructure Fund.
