Charles and Rutherford gets a drop and Hope and Heymeyer comes in. We need proper batsmen mixed in between all these big hitters. When the pitch isn't playing for big hits these big hitters will fold like laundry as we saw partially today when the non big hitter Chase made the highest score out of all of them.

Sri Lanka South Africa this morning

The tournament may very well be one where we see high scoring games in the US and low scoring ones in the Caribbean. Would be interesting for sure.

That pitch in New York is pain to bat on. Toss is everything at this venue. Nice (expected) victory by India

Double header tonight
PNG got rolled over for 77 by Uganda.

Australia Oman in the next game.

Seems like so far this is a WC of batsman struggles.

Ever since the US got those two South Africans and Corey Anderson they have looked like a completely different team. Not minnow like at all.

That loss by Pakistan remind me of when they lost to Ireland in the 2007 world cup.... which was also in WI. Let's hope they don't get knocked out in the group stage and their coach lives past the world cup.

I really thought the average American would't have cared about yesterday but the discourse on Twitter amongst non subcontinental Americans has been quite vibrant. This is how you get minnows growing

Apparently he works at Oracle.

He was also the highest wicket taker for India in the 2010 u-19 world cup though so he's not exactly a weekend player.

Impressed with associate teams so far... and genuinely concerned for WI making it out their group.

My prediction before the tournament starts is for AFG and NZ to come out of the group NOT WI. Lets see if that holds true.

Dwayne Bravo is the bowling consultant for the AFG team its no wonder their bowling so far has been optimal in this format considering Bravo himself with his slow bowling was very effective in the format and was a prominent player during the time when WI used to bowl out teams easily with their spinners in T20 with the likes of Badree and Narine. All those valuable experiences and strategies are very reminiscent in this AFG team for this tournament so far.

Lets hope Uganda put them out of their misery so we won't have to see WI fumble their way through a match against a much better team in the next rounds. It probably won't happen here though as they look like they will fumble their way through a decent score the likes of Uganda probably won't reach. We'll have to wait for AFG to put them out of their misery.

That wicket in NYC very tricky, no wonder the ICC looking into it

The ICC responsible for this whole debacle. They wanted 8 games in NYC to milk Diaspora Indians. Read Peter Della Penna, Cricinfo's US correspondent.

He's been telling the stories of fans who have been essentially fleeced big money all b/c India.

There was never time for proper pitch preparation not evaluation. Meanwhile TT got 5 games in total.
