That's pretty cheap for a big car
If the battery dies, can these cars run as normal with the gas engine or will it be hampered in some form ?

This is a really good question since the Hybrid system in the accord is very different from the rest of typical hybrids.

The car is more of a EV that has a gas engine to charge the battery, engine only runs the car when you at highway speeds.

I think the battery pack starts the car. There is no separate battery to power a starter per say.
So no battery pack, no start.

One of my recent thoughts. Do any of these cars in their info systems have like a running hours counter for the batteries?

Damn. So once battery goes in say a c class hybrid or an x5 hybrid, you basically have a brick till u replace the battery pack?
That sucks.

Man I really not sure as each brand may be different. But heard it's like that with some of them.

Some people are buying hybrids based on the pricing, tbh the Accord has certainly caught my eye as a backup business vehicle as has the Camry which doesn't get the tax exemption but the smart play here is definitely to adopt the wait and see approach. Too many questions being asked with no answers forthcoming

The Vehicle costs $185k.

Views and opinion welcomed.

I would recommend you spend the extra 15 thousand and get a new one than a 2 year old vehicle

Adding to this, stay away or know that ALOT of the 2014/2015 Xtrail u looking at, hybrid and normal has a transmission problem.. It was posted by 2 importers I saw who try to say *preventative maintenance must be done to try and dissolve the issue. Stay safe an get some sort of substantial warranty or just buy it massey

Nissan continues to screw up with CVT trannies ... at this point they should just give up. Honda and Subaru seems to be getting it right atm.

CVT fluid has to specially engineered because of the shearing forces the CVT belt puts on that fluid.

Still only questions not people with real direct hybrod problems.l beleive that as more and more hybrid are purchased Trinidad and world wide by the time the average user gets problem all will be well. Also no mvt and vat means 70000 discount plus much better mileage means money in the bank to dral with issues
