there were some shift change ups by us, and my super's asked that i go on-call in december, right after being on-call in november. i said no and there was a lil squabble, he tellin me that time will come that i would need a favor done, and no one will step up.
most times we off for weekends, i on call, so most times any body doin any ting, i outta the loop.
but ten years is the service of regular frequent night shifts taking its toll, and i eh want to do dat no more. just now is time for me to pelt out. those of u who spartan enough to keep u, power to u, but this roman getting out; cyar take on night shift no more.
Do eeet man... I left and will never turn back. Life is full of stuff that money cannot buy.
Honestly, it isn't all about the money. Some people like myself cannot be comfortable with a 8-4 job. I can't bear the thought of waking at the same time, coming to work for the same time, having lunch at the same time, leaving at the same time EVERY SINGLE working day. Besides 4 days off is plenty time to catch up on home/family/interests.

pam iz yuh famalay???
hoss, e'ry body i know is monday-friday, weekends off.
a couple of times, for lil projects and trainings and what not, i got assigned to daylight 8hrs week day stints, and i hadda say, it was nice. the work did not feel like work (i not referin to the training sessions, although some were intense).
look what goin on now. my shift getting to be off on weekends now, and i not on-call... but i got re-assigned to the shift opposite me, so i still working weekends.
yeah, i bitchin a bit, but is really to show more sides and allow for a more detailed evaluation of a life step. some people made for it, some people not.

A weak minded person will not see the value of family life.

1. You will soon get the opportunity to work in ops land based (im assuming you work in the D&E/MWD)
2. After 30 you can kick back and enjoy your spoils. When plenty people will still be working hard to make ends meet at age 40 and even 50... your friends complaining, you will then realise how much it was worth the sacrfice...
Cheers.
