Yup.....mine is not a priority, but their logistics needs to be improved. Makes you wonder what was really needed, a huge warehouse in Piarco or more staff to handle the volumes

Ezone is usually the most efficient. ..you pay a minimum charge of $80 something dollars were package...
There is currently the usual christmas back log, supposed to get some items yesterday but it still hasnt cleared customs...
If its something I can wait a few days for then I use my freight forwarder. ..ie fairway freight....a lot cheaper but usually takes about 4 days more

In all fairness I wouldn't judge the performance of any shipping company as negative based on their ability or lack thereof to deliver packages on time during the christmas season. I wonder if trinituner mods will allow us to compare prices and compile a list of skybox companies and prices to choose the best one?
Aaron 2NR 4 days extra is nothing to me in most cases so i don't mind waiting an extra week if the cost is considerably cheaper.
Also has anyone used ezone's ocean freight option? how good is it?

I was once with Aeropost but realized they started robbing me blatantly. Had my credit card attached to the account to automatically process fees when my packages cleared. Good thing for me I usually tabulate all my expenses and monitor my credit card statements which showed me that I was actually being charged twice for some packages. Also, they would indicate at times that the payment wasn't processed yet and ask me to swipe my card again when in fact it was already done but they couldn't locate the receipt from their payments department. Later on, I noticed my account on their website showed outstanding payments exceeding 125us. I asked if I'm a credit card customer why would have outstanding balances if my payments are automated. I reviewed all my statements since 2007 and it took about 3months for them to refund me my money and clear my account. Around that time I ended up closing my account with the introduction of their customs charges of 2usd for every package that clears customs that is subject to duties as they could show no legislation or letter indicating such.

TOTALLY LEGIT... customers beware... I had almost this exact problem and i forgot about it. Only I never gave them my credit card info thank god but my statement reflected high charges that no one could explain for months and it took very long to rectify the situation which simply was them charging me twice for the same renewal. Eventually when they figured it out they said don't worry just don't pay it but if they had credit card authorization they would have charged it to my credit card and I may never have even known.
I STRONGLY recommend not giving aeropost the option to automatically charge your credit card to clear your packages.

Customs duty and vat are really supposed to be attached to the CIF value of the item.

Also, maybe a higher value was used, say it was supposed to be 70US and you got it on sale for 45 maybe they used 70 for calculating the duty and vat. So if the shipping cost was $200, the item value of $450 then the CIF value is $650. If it was an item that had say 30% duty and 15% VAT that could be as much as $340 in duty and VAT.

As I said before, that's one of the things I'm afraid of when bringing in something. Have you made a query to the company?

I personally hate that CIF nonsense. What's the point of me buying refurbished or used stuff or buying items on sale if customs is going to just decide that They think my item should be twice as expensive and therefore charge me double the vat and duties i should rightfully be charged? Mohawk is absolutely right. In many instances you pay a rate of 100% in tax; Utterly ridiculous!

Say what you want about aeropost but these people are no joke. In the spirit of this discussion I "hawkeyed" my last package just to get an idea of how fast aeropost actually ships and I'm seeing that UPS delivered my package to miami at 5:18pm Yesterday and Aeropost had my package in trinidad going through customs less than 3 hours later at 7:59pm yesterday evening. I had no idea they shipped that fast. The package was prealerted but still holy crap that is insanely fast shipping.

lol.

please tell us when you actually get your package because the flight from miami is 3hours 40 minutes
and i really doubt they were able to get a package onto a flight if they received the package at 5:18 pm

also considering that most of those offices in miami close at 4pm.

People with websource have gotten cases for 39tt.. I brought in a obd2 bluetooth adapter and paid same thing. Thought it would have been at least 100 to clear.

Question - when UPS deliver a package the company get it the same day or there is a waiting period like USPS?? have packages delivered since the 10th and still no update from the "sauce" that they received it.

Same OBD2 thing was supposed to be delivered on the 2nd, other stuff was delivered on the 3rd and 4th and got the message they received it but nothing about the OBD2. It came eventually, no big deal.
