The transformation is nice but the show lacks some vital aspects that made us gravitate towards the original.

1. The story for this second episode was not well done. The guy just gives himself the Knight last name after some people were coming after him?

2. Commercial breaks. Whenever there was a high point in the show we'd see a freeze frame and then a little cut scene of the car driving through the desert.

3. Super Pursuit Mode is the name of the high speed conversion. Attack mode is nice but it sounds like something 5yr oldish.

4. I don't like the transformers thing where the car turns into a truck.

5. The opening credits....the desert effect at the beginning is what pulls you into the show...they've removed that. I remember when I was younger and I first saw this dot on my tv screen coming closer to me, it made me actually sit down and watch what it was. That element is also missing.

Overall though it's a good show and I hope it makes it as big as the original, however there are some things I think Glen Larson needs to put his input into.

Indeed, the new series is missing a few things. The whole appeal is different, so old Knight Rider fans may be in for some disappointment.

My appeal is mostly the car. I just want to see it get on BAD!

The mustang is very hot, but even the instrumentation and computer controls in the car are looking too star trekish. The voice modulator looks like a crystal ball. What could have been done was just some simple digital instrumentation and a couple of well placed LED's. Make believe does the rest.
