Didn't get any email but it showed up on notifications and I was able to configure it to all locations instead of the default.

No. Just a Galaxy A30.

If you search your phone for Find My Device and select that, do you see an option for Find My offline devices?

To really take advantage you should set it to 'With network in all areas'. It is set to work in high traffic areas only by default.

i saw that. i contemplated the all areas option but i wonder why it wasn't set as the default option.. is it a safety issue?

i don't know- maybe they feel ppl might consider it a privacy issue so the default setting balances that with functionality perhaps. but all info about your devices are supposed to be encrypted using your pin or password -so even though your offline phone may send its location via bluetooth to another android phone and back to you its not like that person knows its location- they wont even know their phone transmitted it.

Saw an update notification this morning Android 15 is ready for download on my device. Will do it later on when home as it usually takes some time and data.

Seems its been ready for Pixel devices since Oct 15th so in keeping with an almost one year calendar date from last year's 14 update.
