Need some advice and figured this is the best place to ask. I have a 12 foot wide 300 feet long pond liner stored in a warehouse. When they where unpacking it from container they stupidly put the forklift fork into the middle of the roll and tried to lift it out. That resulted in it unravelling and being caught up in forklift etc.had to cut up the edges to free the forklift. I need to load it onto a truck but trying to figure out a way to reel it back into a neat roll. It heavy as hell and I dont have the space to roll it out and then roll it back in. Have a forklift at my disposal but the roll cant pass between the warehouse shelving

this is what my father did when we had to fix some vinyl in a similar manner

get some sort of base roll, maybe a length of 3" or 4" pvc cut to the size you want

level/square an edge of the plastic onto the pvc and duct tape it onto the pvc so it wont move or shift

get a couple fellas and as you unroll from the big roll,
take ur time and roll it up on the pvc, leveling and pulling it tight as you go
(picture a cassette, as one ends un rolls, it goes onto the next roll)

Newest Additions. This is not the final installation so don't fuss about regulator and coupler too close to the compressor.

High Flow V Type couplers on the way.

^ ^ ^ Jet 1/2 NPT Regulator, $600 TTD landed... Nice score!

Puma PK 6060V 60 Gal 12 CFM @ 90PSI $6300... Whoa! Sounds like freight to T&T was a killer as usual.
What was the total price (to Miami?) before shipping to T&T?

Yup, Khanico in Gasparillo. They are the local agents for Puma compressors.

They are the ONLY company with a price that even approaches what it should be after shipping and markup.

Buying online and shipping this or an equivalent unit would have come in at around the $6k mark.

Looking for advice on choosing a Circular Saw... To be used for Home - DIY jobs...

Saw some posts where men say 14A saws give problems to cut 2x4s etc.
Saw some others talkin bout one brand over another.

But in terms of at home DIY jobs and not for "contractor work"..
What would you all suggest and where would be the best place to buy it?

It should be reasonably priced (ie. not Dewalt) and able to comfortably cut 2x4, 1x4, construction ply, mdf, etc.

Thanks...

I bought the 12A Skil circular saw from Pricesmart.. forgot how much I payed for it but it was wayy cheaper than many of the big brand name saws. From my experience, Skil tools (made by Bosch) can take a pretty good beating and doesn't let you down. Would strongly recommend the Skil brand.

In terms of performance, I am able to cut 3/4" MDF / ply etc with ease. I did notice the saw struggling slightly when I had to cut through a 1.5" door all the way across, but once you don't force it, it will make the cut.. I even used it to cut pieces of 6 x 6 in half and it ran through the wood without stalling.

When you factor price vs performance, the Skil saw will be #1 IMO. If you are a contractor or do wood working for business, then step up to a 14A saw from Milwaukee, Makita etc.. (NO black and decker eh!). If you have the funds, buy yourself a worm drive circular saw!

I have seen that particular saw selling in Pricesmart for $429.00.
I was a bit skeptical about it due to the limited 12Amp. Was thinkin that at least a 14Amp should be able to handle most jobs comfortably.

Thanks for the info..

Nice flow rate! Will make most air tools sing!

I need to get me a good air impact. I am using the Stanley 1/2" drive impact (rated at 500ft-lbs IIRC) but these days it not performing as it used to. I opened it up and cleaned out the section with the hammers, but it still not hitting as hard as it should.

Two modes: 100 and 700 ft/lb tightening, 1100 ft/lbs nut busting. No cords or air hoses to deal with!

There's also a heavier 3/4 inch drive version with 375/750 ft/lbs tightening and 1200 ft/lbs nut busting.

agreed with 3stage about d pricesmart skil saw , have 1 a few yrs going & it doesnt give trouble , there are indeed better saws for alot more $ but for $430 u cant complaint

also have a porter cable , more powerful & cuts better but its around $1000

key to any power saw is to use d appropriate blade according to materials being cut , dont keep only a 14tooth "do-it-all" blade since it wont go thru some materials better then others nor leave smooth cut in all jobs

i like to use dewalt blades , its thin , cuts fast & neat

1 of d worst blades i have used is a brand called "KC" sold in bhags , blasted ting brand new cuts lazy & slow like issa ole blade , pure toots blade ....

Nothing under $9k.

If you're considering the Pmart 60 Gal, remember no parts are available for it.

One of the most important things people need to remember is to use a tool for what it was designed. I know full time carpenters who buy that saw then complain that it no good.

People usually want to buy cheaper tools then push them beyond their limits.

My thing is, buy the best you can afford and the saw dont cut, the blades cut
so get some good blades as well....and diablo blades are sweet!!

food service places sell those gel things to put under food warmers.

circular saws should be treated carefully, don't drop it hard as it could get out of alignment and most saws do not have alignment adjustment for front to back.
My expensive dewalt was out of alignment and would show this badly when making angled cuts. Luckily it has adjustment for front to back.
