ah boy. Take your time. Find a video to follow. watch it first.
watch it again.
watch it a third time.
play it while you do it.
be careful with the components. use a heat gun/hair dryer for heat if needed.
place all related screws in one place. eg. a container. Don't mix different ones.
hopefully you ordered a screen protector/tempered glass. The screens normally don't have an oleophobic coating.
M_2NR wrote:don't use it. boy i forgot to mention that also! I had that issue on my g2... it had glue throughout the entire back of the battery. I ordered a new battery pronto. Mine booted also but that smell is real.
M_2NR wrote:Done know. I ended up with a newer one that it came with from eBay. (Date printed on these)
Dat smell does sour your whole week yes.

This was one tedious and scary process of unlocking a bootloader and bricking my tablet about 6 times before getting it unlocked, rooted, kerneled and running with CM12. Now the root is gone again and I had bricked it overnight. Fastboot rescues! Finally fixed it this morning again.
SONY has some serious lock downs on their stuff! But it can be done, so don't get discouraged for those here who are going to try it.

not really though, i've had nothing but smooth sailing with my sony devices. it could be complications with the ROM that you went through
