Well if we rename the thread to Official Homicides as opposed to Murder then it makes the numbers easier to lump in as they happen.shake d livin wake d dead wrote:Seeing some other crime groups saying we hit the 600 marker, some of them are counting the bodies where autopsies have not been completed

Remember when 500 was the feared point of no return, now we made 600 cuz the year not over yet and still have more killings to come but when will ppl say enough is enough and demand something be done? When it reaches 700, 800 maybe a 1000 a year?The_Honourable wrote:From the Express
The official 2024 murder toll as of last night stood at 584, but police say the homicide figure for the year so far has crossed the 600 mark.

GOVERNMENT has the will to deal with crime, Minister in the National Security Ministry Keith Scotland said yesterday.
His comments came as the country recorded three more murders, bringing the official toll for the year so far to 584.
But police have noted that the homicide toll in T&T for the year has already crossed 600.
Homicide is a broad term that includes all deaths of people caused by other people, while murder is a specific type of homicide that involves the intentional killing of another person.
Homicides include the act of one person killing another person, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and can be caused by accidental, reckless, or negligent acts.
Murders are classed as the unlawful killing of another person with the intent to cause serious harm or death, or with reckless indifference to human life.
Murder requires intent or malice, which is not always present in other types of homicides.
Until a homicide is proven to meet the criteria for murder, it may not be included in the official murder toll, police told the Sunday Express.
