only thing i notice i didnt like about the pioneer is the no audio pass through when the receiver is off... my yamaha does that allowing me to use the tv speakers alone for normal listening like late at night or something so, but its a good RX never the less

If there's only 1 listener sitting in between the fronts, there's no need for a center boy pioneer boy.

^ nice equipment there Chiney - same speakers I have lol
what gauge speaker wire you using on them Klipsch?
You have the center pointed down at the listening area right?
I hope you plan to space out those L&R speakers eventually

you will never use it, the Pioneer receivers have a midnight mode just for that - also these newer receivers handle audio well at low volume, you wont miss anything and it will be far better at low volume than the crappy speakers on your TV will do.

lolwut? the 5.1 or 7.1 mix sends voice etc to the center channel, no center means it will mix it up in the stereo setup you have and muddy up the mix the movie producer intended. The center channel is THE most important speaker in your 5.1 or 7.1 setup for movie watching.

yeh d00d, those Klipsch are the shiz, sometimes i dont even miss not having a sub!

the center is pointing towards the viewing area yes, and shamefully i do take the Yamaha off and automatically it sends the sound to the hdmi through to the tv speakers for late night gaming...for movie late night i use a wireless xtreamer headphones made for the xtreamer pro, but it can be used on a pc and so forth.

as for spacing out, those are there due to laziness

its gonna go on either side of the tv once my stitches heal and i back in full swing to use tools and shiz.

silent riot waz joking, im sure he was dude. the center is DE most critical of the speakers.

on another note, i bought the sub im going to use for my HT sub. it is the mb quart premium 12, it is surely going to hit lower and harder than any sub u will buy to compare. i am SURE of that.

I have recently switched to Projection Display for my Home Theater. Few months ago I was about to purchase a HDTV 42" but decided on 100 inch projector instead. Actually it can do a lot more than 100 inch but where would I even get that kind of space to begin with anyways.

I don't know but I just love 100+ inch screens. Wish I could get the 30 foot screens found in our Local Cinemas but such a thing will be unrealistic. Even the best home Projector will not compete with ones found in real Cinemas.

Which is why I appreciate going to the movies still. Some things a home theater cannot replace what a real cinema experience can do.

Only downside to Projectors is the bulbs need to be replace after 6000 hours or so. Sometimes 4000 hours or even 3000 hours.

But with new LED projectors advancing you are looking at 30,000 hour lamp life which makes replacing bulbs no longer a problem. The lumens however cannot compete with the regular lamps.

Cant agree with you here,i rather stay at home and watch it on blu ray (whenever it's released) rather than trek up and go see it,having noisy/rowdy kids there, plus there's something about a crowded movie theater that just turns me off from viewing the movie.

if you are talking about the crowd, lines, stale popcorn, bright obnoxious exit sign and noise then I'd say it would be difficult to reproduce that at home.

There are home theater projectors from ProjectionDesign that will blow away the commercial projectors in cinemas locally. Perhaps IMAX or newer 4K screens and projectors would be hard if not impossible to match in-home, but we don't have those here in T&T.

Cinemas and projectors shine when it comes to sheer size, but to match a 60" high end plasma for picture quality, the projector would have to be phenomenally expensive and the room would have to have very controlled lighting. A Projectiondesign Kroma home theater LED projector is ~US$30K. Not saying hat is what you have to spend to match the PQ on plasma, but it won't be cheaper than the plasma itself.

but duane.. i have seen many home theater builds online on the forums and have noted a few epson and denon projectors doing 120" with some SERIOUS PQ yo, the experts themselves compare it to that of plasma. i`m just saying here that it is possible to get the PQ from those projectors that cost around 2-3k US . you just got to know which one to buy. i myself have a 720p projector home here. a panasonic. that lil thing is VERY clean as well. as u said. controlled lighting is very important. one this i noticed in those big HT builds u see online. is that the guys always mention gettin the right amount of light on during movie time.

^ yup I think the US$3000 projectors are on the mid to low end of the scale too - check it.

I'm not saying no - it's just what you have to do to enjoy the same PQ.
Plus bulb life or just plain lighting woes will mean a projector based HT system will not do as well for TV watching. It's far less practical for that.
