Truer words have never been spoken.....if PNM really cared about stopping gangs all them CEPEP and URP contracts would not be issued to gang leaders. Why does one gang leader have 10 CEPEP gangs , not gonna name him here but we encourage crimeThe_Honourable wrote:Hot take i saw on facebook:
The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago met T&T with $5 billion in its treasury. Between 1962-1982 (The year of his death) Trinidad and Tobago was already on its way to economic depression. This man was the father of PNM, Eric Williams. (Billions of dollars vanished as the Black Power Movement launched protest after protest against his leadership)
In today’s conversation, PNM supporters would boast on the infrastructural development left behind by the British, while making claims that all this was built by the People’s National Movement.
The Hospitals, Police Stations, Fire Stations, Schools, Churches, Lofts, Carriages, Railroads, and a brewing Economy were all built by the Queen of England and were brought to ruins between 1962 - 1982 by the People’s National Movement.
After Eric Williams’ death in 1982 he was replaced by George Chambers also known as “Duncey Head George.” As described by the every day citizen.
Between 1982 to 1986 Trinidad and Tobago was completely BANKRUPT, in 1986 the National Alliance for Reconstruction won the General Elections 33/3, where they met a literally empty treasury, they had no choice but to go to the IMF to borrow money against state assets to fund the State.
This loan saw T&T’s currency go from $1-1 USD in 1962 to $4.62-1 USD in 1986. Who caused this, you may ask? The ONLY government to have ruled T&T between 1962-1986 was no other than the People’s National Movement.
Between the years of 1962-1985 The People’s National Movement imported their voter-stock from other Caribbean Islands, as their popularity decreased due to consistent protests in the Capital City staged by the Black Power Movement. Where they accused the then Prime Minister Eric Williams of corruption and embezzlement.
Some 60,000 islanders were imported from Haiti, Jamaica, Grenada, Barbados, St Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent, St Lucia and the Grenadines and were given abode in T&T, across the East West Corridor. Yes, they were given FREE housing by the People’s National Movement.
These locations are still known as or referred to as “PNM Strongholds.” Which are consequently the breeding grounds for the island’s most dangerous criminal elements. As NHA / HDC units and housing has been passed down from generation to generation in exchange for political loyalty.
The offsprings of the pre 1968 imported people voted for PNM in 1991 restoring PNM Governance under the leadership of Patrick Manning, in the wake of the brutal July 27th 1990 Coup d’tat, headed by PNM funded Jamaat Al Muslimeen, Yasin Abu Bakr who would have been known as a notable gang leader of the 1990s.
The close relationship between Yasin Abu Bakr and the People’s National Movement was inarguable proven in 2 affidavits provided by the Gang Leader, as the said administration led by Patrick Manning later pardoned Yasin Abu Bakr for his treasonous actions that toppled the NAR government.
The People’s National Movement have always hired gangsters, gang leaders and gangs to do their dirty work. While the supporters of said party would love to preach alternative history. As innocent civilians have lost their lives at the hands of this murderous administration.
Today? Poverty is widespread and there are too many gangs under PNM’s pay roll that they are fighting for CEPEP and URP contracts and as the money stops trickling, they will continue to reign terror on law abiding citizens.

Exactly, everyone has an opinion, some opinions have inherent biases due to their political affiliation. Others offering opinions but lack credibility due to being tainted or hiding behind anonymous made up names. In this heated political climate, there will be strong opinions on both sides, even a lot of picong and insults. Both sides are wholly undeserving of government, but I guess we get what we deserve.The_Honourable wrote:wing wrote:https://trinidadexpress.com/opinion/letters/show-us-your-crime-plan-kamla/article_5a75fa2a-ca3b-11ef-be4e-d7b3f07c546b.html

She has some good points but keep in mind of the following:
Irene Medina is a pnm alderman in arima so she would obviously have a bias.
She and her cohorts at the express was sorted out in court back in 2016 for defaming a former CEO of EMBD and had to pay up 500K+

Yes that's correct. The so-called grassroots, core or stronghold support is not what should be the focus.
