Excellent win by West Indies!
Last time we won the first match of an overseas series was maybe against South Africa back in 2008.....excluding Bangladesh tours.

Let's see if we can win a series in England for the first time since '88.

Really puts in perspective that even with Ambrose, Walsh and Lara we couldn't win there.

So someone impersonated the CMO or the CMO's office and allegedly sent false information about the government's ability to host CPL according to C-19 protocols to the CPL executive.

Rowley doing damage control.

Only thing is he did not blame Kamla (as yet) but the implication was really there.

My concern is how do we know this is true (in an election campaign) other than Rowley saying so?

No doubt sent from anan@gmail.com
Or was it a printed letter? Do you know that every printer has a unique code called the Machine Identification Code invisibly printed on each page? That's how the FBI and police tracks letters through a database of printer manufacturers. So that would not be so difficult a problem to trace a printed letter. Any mention how impersonating a Government Official and using the coat-of-arms illegally on correspondence is a crime? He mentioned how the police are working on this case?

(oh no? He didn't? no? ohhhhhhh......)

PM: 'Fake CMO' trying to ruin CPL
SEAN DOUGLAS 3 HRS AGO

SOMEONE masquerading as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Roshan Parasram sent a bogus message to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) organisers to try to cancel the upcoming tournament, the Prime Minister told a briefing at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, on Monday.

The imposter had falsely claimed the government had changed the terms under which the tournament would be held in TT, Dr Rowley said.

He lamented that there were people in this country who were prepared to undermine the national effort so TT would fail, in line with their own ambitions and agenda.

"Would you believe that after Cabinet agreed to the terms and conditions under which the CPL would be allowed – the Minister of Sport spelt it out, I spelt it out and the CMO spoke about the involvement of the Ministry of Health – would you believe, some person here in TT appears to have impersonated the CMOs office and sent to the CPL's office contrary information, causing this whole matter to now be questioned as to whether the CPL would be held in TT."

He said the Minister of Sport has had to contact the CPL to confirm the tournament.

Earlier, Rowley said the re-entry of TT citizens abroad during the ongoing border lockdown was a separate issue from admitting people for the CPL in August as a revenue-earner.

“The responsibility of the Government of TT is to balance lives and livelihoods.”

He recalled the Government's first emphasis during the covid19 crisis was on lives, although the lockdown has had serious negative effects on livelihoods, which he now sought to help alleviate.

Rowley said now the CPL tournament and the lockdown were not mutually exclusive.

He related that throughout the covid19 crisis, the Government had committed $12 million a month to keep afloat the three state-owned hotels, namely the Hyatt, Hilton Trinidad and Magdalena in Tobago, and to preserve workers' jobs, while waiting out the virus.

Rowley boasted that TT was now sufficiently safe to host an international tournament, referring to Oxford University's assertion that TT was the most prepared country in the world to lift its lockdown in line with World Health Organisation (WHO) standards.

CONSPIRACY THEORY:

Did Joffra Archer deliberately breach the bio-secure regulations so that he would not play the 2nd test against the West Indies?

He was dropped for this game because instead of travelling straight to the next venue, he took a detour to pass by his home.

2nd test starts at 7:30 a.m. due to rain.

Apparently he, allegedly, took a detour of 120 miles in total to "check" his girlfriend.

Michael Holding is livid and went full throttle on him.

Idiot move by Archer. Once again a woman behind a bad action by a man.

I would have thought all English players would travel together though and not individually. Southampton to Manchester is quite a good pull.

Holding also queried why the English team did not travel together by bus but were allowed to travel separately.

He understands the power of pxxxxy.

Deep down???
He only moved to England in 2015 and if the ECB hadn't altered the rules of eligibility just for him he still would have been qualifying to play for England till 2022

Was watching the clips they had during the delay this morning and he still has his Bajan accent.

Now that WI down to England's tail I now seeing their bowling line up is significantly different from the 1st test.
Archer for obvious reasons not there, but Wood and Anderson are gone as well. In is Broad, Curran and Woakes

England are resting and rotating their key bowlers.

Meanwhile on the WI side ...

Without rain WI would have been in trouble by now. Not that i don't have any confidence in them, just that them fellas was looking real tired yesterday. Them not going to take time and bat.

Rain should allow those guys to rejuvenate. They put in some hard work and didn't allow England to dictate the scoring rate too much taking time out of the match.

I think WI knew this from the beginning and played accordingly knowing there would be rain on day 3.

Game is set up for a draw. WI just need to spend time in the middle and take all scoring opportunities hoping that England isnt overly attacking.

Campbell has been figured out to be very susceptible to LBW. Only disappointment on day 2 for me.

Still plenty work for WI to draw this game. England can't lose so they'll be on all out attack. Remember this is the same batting lineup that collapsed against Bumrah at home last year.
We need to bat out tomorrow then we can talk about a draw.

LOL. I do not know why people do not like to call a spade a spade.

Check this: Cricinfo not easy!

Jofra Archer cleared to play in third Test after fine and written warning

The individual whom he saw in Brighton has also tested negative for the virus since the incident. ESPNcricinfo understands that individual was not Archer's neighbour and Sussex teammate, Chris Jordan.

That no saliva on the ball is working in windies favour this morning. No kinda swing to talk about. This is going to be a big issue in coming series. The only person generating any kinda sweat is the bowler and is only so much he could do

Windies 120-2 going into lunch
