Exactly my point, there were massacres at various times and under various governments.

You need to win at politics in order to govern.

Rowley wants Stuart Young for the position but many in the party have been mobilizing against it. Young doesn't connect with the pnm base, he's not "rootsy" as the old people say.

If no Young, maybe Foster, Penny or even Amery Browne

Just like hover cherry picked Rowley perks that he will be getting when he leaves but Kamliar has been getting since 2015. Again I say, no matter how much crap the PNM does in government, they play the political game better than the alternative, and win elections. As for Tobago holding the "key" to the next government, that may be so, but Kamla not allowing a Tobago MP to be PM, and the UNC coalition or whatever still has to win 20 seats which is impossible at this point.

How does one get to govern? They have to win elections. How does one win elections? Politics. Which party has the better political experience and funding AT THIS TIME? Which party already has candidates selected and working to give the best possible chance to win? Which party has deployed a political strategy to give the appearance of "stable succession and youth"? Which party cannot unite the opposing forces under an appealing leader despite the awful state of the country? The sycophants will resort to insults instead of convincing the right voters to ignore the PNM.
