If you want your FUL, then you should be able to genuinely prove you are responsible. Not a bam bam thank you maam yearly competency and then do assness in the ppl establishment.

And what would you say if I told you that there's actually quite literally thousands of applications from law-abiding citizens who've done exactly just that, and waited patiently for years, some fo decades even, regularly checking on the status of their application, and to this day they still haven't received an FUL, or even a better response other than the usual "it on the commissioner desk waiting to sign" bs?

A teenager was shot yesterday morning during an attempted robbery near a bank in Arima.

The incident took place just after 8 a.m. on the Eastern Main Road.

Police said a customer went to the First Citizens bank to deposit cash.

Before he could do so, he was confronted by an armed assailant.

The suspect, who was brandishing a firearm, attempted to grab the bag that containing the undisclosed quantity of cash.

But the customer threw the bag, and the suspect ran to pick it up off the ground.

The customer then pulled out a firearm and fired shots at the suspect.

But instead, the bullet hit a teenager standing nearby. The suspect fled the scene.

The police and paramedics were notified and the injured boy was taken to the Arima Hospital for treatment. His injury was not life-threatening.

Although there is initial training following which a certificate of competence is to be issued by an authorized trainer the problem is that there is no standard curriculum involved.
I know some trainers who do put you through proper training and some again who just do a 'run though' making sure you could load unload etc. Even after that proper concealed carry training should be taken and very few actually do
Controversial point here as well but over the years some of the worst shooters I've seen were police and security. Before the Gary era the best shooters were ironically the folks who didn't own guns but used the ranges' equipment

I agree, shooting is a skill but you don’t have to be on a competitive level to know what is beyond your target rather than shooting wildly and emptying the clip as the opposition leader promotes.

Lack of basic firearm etiquette and safety measures in T&T appears to be a growing problem.
