That is the power play, which mimmicks actual history somewhat, when the crown was forced to unify with the church and disseminate its power into democracy. Just i dont think they going to institute democracy in got. At least not in this season. I think high sparrow gonna get done in in the war or before. Jaimie might find him in a back alley alone with no witnesses and end it. But if not, his power play which forced crown to unite with church as the new way forward will have jaime's army as allies to defend the castle when push come to shove. Enemy of my enemy and all that.

What an underwhelming episode. So basically Brienne was an extra, take her out of the riverrun 'siege' and it changes absolutely nothing.

I was expecting more from the Black Fish too, much anticlimactic.

Jaimie break lord of riverrun easy easy by threatening to launch his son on a catapult. Blackfish should've gone with brienne to backup sansa. Not doing that he kind of made himself irrelevant to the story. This season is about political alignments in preparation for war. Anyone trying to stand on their own right now in a mess. Only one way for blackfish to live now. The men have to realign to his commands and leave with him to catch up to brienne. Failing that, he's a dead man. Even though I don't believe for a second that his swordsmanship is rusty like he was joking about.

Didn't the soldier report to Jamie that they found Blackfish and he's now dead?

I actually missed that part. Probably was switching tabs. He probably really is dead though, meaning he was just a filler so they could explain who was holding the castle. From the strategic point of view, the producers maybe just want to ensure lannisters have that location on the map for how they going to play out the war. So whoever was there would either have to align with lannister, fight him and win(which they can't because his army has to play a major role in the war)... or leave. Most can happen now is the remaining Tullys abandon the castle and move to find brienne. They could always take back their home when they win the war.

^ Blackfish definitely was not a filler, He is the most famous Tully other than Cat in the story, he was her uncle. He was the only one that survived the Red Wedding.

You would think by now that people would realize that not just because they like a character means they are extremely important and non removable from the story. Blackfish was cool and reinforces certain points with respect to good not necessarily winning over evil on a very basic level. Season 1 episode 9 should never be forgotten in this regards. The red wedding should never be forgotten in this regard. What made the blackfish so special that you guys expected so much more from him?

That powerful line Cersi give only to have the mountain kill 1 man

She getting soft.

I interested in the end, if Tyrion, Bronn and Poddrick will be chilling in the imps vineyard after this war

Jamie seems more conflicted than ever....he needs some imp wine to

I'm still #teamcersei and #teamjaime. Not sure what will happen but I think I prefer the Lannisters to the Starks.

No trial by combat but that doesn't mean men not gonna die at the Mountain's hands :fadein:

Qyburn informed Cersei of the tons of wildfire that lay underneath the Red Keep

She might light up Kings Landing before she loses that trial

Making u probably the only person in the world to support team incest. That whole clip hafta dead, the boy king included. Arya not deadin, snow not deadin, sansa not deadin, poddrick not deadin, daenarys and the dwarf not deadin, warg boy not deadin. Can already tell who going to win this war. Also the female iron born not deadin. I have chosen those who will be saved.

Lol

Strange that there was so much screen time devoted to irrelevant stuff like Tyrion trying to tell jokes, yet there was no screen time to show a legendary warrior fight his last battle? Maybe he'll make a comeback like the Hound......we never saw him die on screen but assumed he was dead.

WRT Cersei, I think she played her hand too early in letting Mountain kill that Faith Militant fella. High Sparrow realized that trial by combat would be her only way out. Since he doesn't have anyone who can beat the Mountain, he take in front and abolished that form of trial.

^ Don't forget that meaningless exchange between Pod and Bron.

I would personally want to see Edmure take his army to fight with Sansa because that was the point of Brienne going to riverrun in the first place, to get the Tully army. The plot instead got focused on Jaime so unless Edmure does that then what was the point introducing us to the Blackfish?

Not everything has a point. Not every good guy will win. Not everything works out. GoT should have made yall realize this already. This is not BvS where they try to make every scene seem important. Some characters go out in a blaze of glory. Some go out taking a sheit even though they were cool for many seasons. #RIPTywin

Well next ep will be the slaughtering time. I feel the Frey's will be the first followed by the Bolton's. Something tells me Jamie will turn on the Frey's.
