Nice, it will be good to have competition in sea freight as well.
In the near future, I think the gov't is going to try to impose on this though...to try to get people to buy more locally, as I'm sure local businessmen will be complaining.

Yup. Then they need to up their game big time!
They do not provide the variety and choices at competitive prices. Their mark ups are huge. Plus the darn bootlegs. Oh did I mention no cash back and not honouring warranties? That's what is killing them.
Oh yeah, is about time they have some active, updated websites WITH PRICES. Keep up it's 2015.

*In the mean time, just got a call from Trinebox for delivery and heading to Tropical Express to collect another package when they open.

Which company would you all recommend for bringing in a package that's 104lbs? 24"*20"*10" package.

Laparkan quoted me $25.00 usd shipping however they do not clear it for you. I'm waiting on the other two, I called them and they said to email them the link on amazon, no response from them yet.

Laparkan told you they not clearing it for you? My shipment, they stated they'll be clearing it. They gave me a full quote too for my shipment from the UK.

Which service grants you a UK address to use on Amazon.co.uk, etc?

afaik they would normally clear your shipments for a fee... or you can do it yourself but cater a half day

so hear this i tested out aeropost and they real efficient, my package was delivered to their ware house on tuesday and it was by the counter ready for pick up today. The drawback is that they are expensive. My package cost $28.56 US and to pick it up cost $89TT and the item is bicycle cable, where as with csf another bicycle part brought in through them the item cost $80 US and $23tt to collect both items under a pound. Why a big difference in price between the two ?

You probably paid an accurate amount for VAT and Duties. Get accustomed to paying the real price to clear goods. To clear something of such value and weight costs around $120.00 with WS. (used 29usd and 0.5lbs)

CHARGES (TT$)
Duties $ 42.92
VAT $ 38.63
Freight $ 26.70
Fuel Charge $ 4.54
Insurance $ 6.48
VAT on Local Handling $ 0.75
Total Shipping Charges $ 120.02

Should sporting goods be charged duty ? Cause I didn't get charged duty with csf for my bicycle parts.

J.....x got my package since last thursday only got it today, didn't even know they were delivering until I send them an email query. You have to request a breakdown of charges or else you get nothing so you don't know the breakdown what you paying. They repackaged one of my packages to a much flimsier box which I was not pleased with. WS moves a lot quicker, can't really compare the prices as its different classes of items I brought down
