IMO Barca started off the game badly but then they settled and was able to score. The rest of the first half Barca played their game and played it well into the beginning of the second half until Pep made that Villa switch which was a shietty move on his part because Barca could have killed off the tie. When Barca game plan changed, Arsenal started playing hard just as they did at the beginning of the first half and scored their goals. I'm not avoiding the obvious though, Messi did have a bad game for his high standard, so did some of the rest of Barca players and Arsenal played really well when Barca took their foot off the gas. For the second leg Barca better get Puyol back because with him and Pique absent is dangerous; Barca should bring their A game as they usually do because another off night or a lapse in concentration will see Arsenal will put them out of CL. All and all we still supporting Barca till we die :fist:

well the bad call is a fact, not looking for excuses as to why we lost, but one must be objective esp. if one has to deal with naysayers and opinionated buffoons like you.
if the ref made the correct call the game would have tied or even swung our way.
no fan boy talk there.

We lost because we failed to attack. Keita for Villa was suicidal unless Villa carrying a knock or something. Too much square balls and not enough attacking from the third half.

Well I for one will admit that im a newcommer to Barca,
I only started support in days of Rijkaard and Ronaldinho...but I try not to miss a game and news on the team. btw Barca's basketball team won the championship a couple weeks ago.

But I kno when Pio on sheit to rile up men.

What Im not sure about is why they are saying that it is/or it was a Barca/Arsenal tie??
Can anyone explain this to me? Is it that its 2-2 on aggregate? Coz I thought the aggregate goal only comes into play if theres an official draw on the first leg..

a tie simply means that the winner will be decided over two legs with both teams playing home and away..has nothing to do with an actual tie or draw (level scores)..not sure where the terminology comes from tho

aggregate is what decides the tie..if the aggregate scores are level then the away goals rule comes into effect which confuses alot of people

Some good news...some bad news....

Barcelona confident defender will be fit

Barcelona defender Carles Puyol has undergone further tests on his troublesome left knee, and the club has confirmed that they are pleased with the progress he is making as he looks to make a first team return.

The absence of the inspirational captain has been noticeable in the past few weeks, as the Spanish champions stumbled to a 1-1 draw at Sporting before losing to Arsenal in the Champions League last week.

However, the treatment to cure his tendonitis has proven to be satisfactory so far, and Barcelona's medical team are hopeful of having the 32-year-old fit and ready to face the Arsenal in the second leg in two weeks' time.

The news will come as a boost to coach Pep Guardiola, who looks set to lose goalkeeper Victor Valdes for up to a month after the shot-stopper suffered a knee injury in training.

Initial reports suggested that Valdes could be out for up to six weeks, but a further evaluation suggests that he could be back in action by the middle of next month.

they need him in the back against the gunners especially if Valdes not available

but maybe barca can hold majority possession and reduce possible attacks, midfield gonna have to work on the 8th Mar.

pioneer, quick question:

How many Man. Utd. players were in the running for Player of the Year vs. the number of Barca players?
