Nothing except hate and slander comes through that donkey's mouth.

Very detailed take on Hinds almost as if Anil "Pedo" Roberts is projecting.

Chris Must List was exploiting those areas for views, end of story.

He put that Scooby-Doo there to remind you he can only go ruh-ro when asked about Life Sport.

Imagine he had one term and got caught red-handed within that term.

If bobolee was a real person it would be Mr. Dougla Politricks.

SSA lawyer gunned down in a State of Emergency

Attorney Randall Hector, a lawyer who did legal work for the Strategic Services Agency (SSA), an elite unit within the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, has been murdered.

Hector, 43, was walking to his car at Stanmore Avenue, Port of Spain when he was shot.

He died at hospital.

In 2023, there were 577 known homicides in T&T.

In 2024, there has now been at least 625.

Earlier this year, the Court of Appeal reserved judgment in the Strategic Services Agency (SSA) appeal over a request by political activist Ravi Balgobin Maharaj for information on wiretapping by the agency.

Appellate Judges heard legal arguments yesterday from SSA attorney, former head of the SSA legal department Randall Hector, and Maharaj’s legal team led by Anand Ramlogan, SC.

In 2017, Maharaj requested disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act regarding the number of interceptions of citizens’ private communication were conducted by the SSA without warrants from a judge.

He also asked for the number of international training courses the staff attended.

The SSA refused to provide the information on the grounds that it would breach national security.

Maharaj brought judicial review proceedings challenging the SSA’s failure to disclose the information under his FOIA request.

The SSA appealed.

Hector argued that the SSA could not disclose the information, as it was bound by a strict code of secrecy and confidentiality.

Ramlogan countered that the SSA was funded by taxpayers and must be held accountable in the interest of transparency and good governance.

Hector lived at Irish Avenue, Diego Martin.

He was the Principal Advocate Attorney of R. W. Hector & Associates. He had significant experience, successfully representing Clients before the Magistrates Court, Industrial Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. He was employed with the Attorney General's Office, for over a decade, in the capacity of both a Criminal Law and Civil Law Advocate. He once served as the Director of the Legal Department in the country's legislated Intelligence Agency for several years.

Interesting read.

The assassination of Randall Hector: A tip from inside church?

THE KILLING of 43-year-old attorney Randall Hector has been described as a 'well-coordinated hit with pinpoint accuracy' by top national security and senior police intelligence officers.

The last of the 624 murders of 2024 occurred on Old Year's Night outside the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, Stanmore Avenue, Queen's Park West, Port of Spain, as Hector and his family were leaving the church where he had delivered a sermon praising the goodness of God.

'This was not a street-style killing, it was one that was well coordinated and had all the elements of a professional hit. They were precise and had specific skills,' a top national security officer told the Express yesterday. Hector-an attorney in private practice who did special prosecutions for the State and a former Security Services Agency (SSA) legal director- left the church around 7.30 p.m. and was walking south to his car on Stanmore Avenue, with his wife and two children, when he was ambushed by shooters in a black SUV and Nissan B15 sedan.

Several senior intelligence and national security officers dismissed speculation that Hector's murder may have been linked to a court case involving an alleged gang leader, for which he was slated to serve as special prosecutor. They believe his killing carried a far more ominous message, possibly linked to this country's elite SSA.

'I can say with certainty that how certain gang leaders operate is that they ensure that they call in everyone involved in a potential hit. Their style is to speak to everyone individually and have separate briefings for everyone.

'They pick and choose. They will speak with the driver and then lastly with the enforcers. But if that gang leader is not around physically to sanction a hit, it will not go down,' a top intelligence officer said. Daniel murder recalled

That same intelligence officer said based on the manner of Hector's killing, it was professionally done.

'Remember the killing of Andy Daniel? Well, the precision was very similar in execution. He was shot at point-blank range among other persons who were nearby, without anyone else being injured,' the officer said.

Daniel was shot dead on the Uriah Butler Highway, near the Caroni overpass, on November 11, 2023. He was a private contractor who installed CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras and did work for the SSA. He was also the husband of former SSA deputy director of Intelligence Joanne Bartholomew Daniel.

Daniel's assailants, who were in a black Nissan X-Trail SUV, stopped behind him on the shoulder of the highway around 1.10 p.m. on that Saturday, got out of their car, pumped several bullets into him and fled the scene.

Last year, the Express reported exclusively that Daniel's murder was possibly a hit performed by a 'hit squad' operating inside the SSA. This scenario emerged following the suspension of then Major Roger Best as SSA director and his replacement with retired Brigadier General Anthony Phillips-Spencer, who was mandated to review and audit all personnel, equipment and processes within the SSA.

Murder on camera

Another top senior police officer added validity to the possibility that Hector's murder was a professional hit that was meticulously planned and executed.

'These killers were parked at the corner of Albion and Stanmore Avenue and were lying in wait. Quite possibly, they received a message from someone who may have been in the church that the service was over and Mr Hector was walking out to his car,' said the officer.

Hector's car was parked just past the Albion Street and Stanmore Avenue intersection, facing north. 'Just ten feet before he got to the car, the men pulled up, came out of the vehicle, and from approximately six feet away shot him precisely seven times in the chest and then escaped. His family who were mere metres away were untouched,' the officer said.

Investigators recovered 15 9mm shells on the scene that night.

The gunmen drove north along Stanmore Avenue, onto Queen's Park West and disappeared.

Sources confirmed Hector was carrying his licensed firearm when he was shot but 'did not have any chance to draw his firearm and they didn't take it'.

The location of the killing was also a matter of concern, according to law enforcement officials.

'There was a CCTV camera right above the killing that captured the incident. However, our understanding is that that particular camera has no record or playback capability and can only see things live. Whoever picked that spot had to have some degree of knowledge about that,' said a top national security officer in the know.

Sources also say that since the killing, Hector's family has been taken into protective custody.

Upstanding citizen

Top insiders at the SSA, who spoke with the Express on the condition of anonymity yesterday, described Hector as 'an upstanding and lowkey man. He often was a very private person, and while he worked here in the legal department of the SSA, he did everything by the book,' said a senior SSA official.

Another senior insider said that Hector used a different vehicle for work and another for his family outings.

'Clearly, someone or some people only with a high degree of intelligence would know that,' he said. The official said Hector had worked in the SSA as legal director under former director Col George Robinson before leaving in 2020.

However, Hector was still working and providing legal advice for the SSA before he left suddenly in April last year. 'I don't know if he saw things that were not right or there was some wrongdoing he saw that prompted him to leave. Hopefully, somewhere along the line, the police or other units of the national security can uncover it,' the official said.

Hector was part of the legal team that represented the SSA in a case in which Ravi Balgobin Maharaj filed a lawsuit against the SSA in 2017 over the disclosure of information pertinent to its wire-tapping activities.

Balgobin won the matter in 2018. The SSA then appealed the matter which is still pending.

Don't hold your breath, especially with our ttps detection rate. Unfortunately it might be unsolved just like Selwyn Richardson and Dana Seetahal.

Would be unfortunate if the TTPS/gov't puts this down as collateral damage unless they know something rest of us don't to classify it as that.

Yesterday the PM himself referred to Selwyn Richardson case as being unsolved when asked about Hector. So yeah he admitted it may never be solved.

The only way to solve something like that is to have NSA level cell phone surveillance which can detect key words or track movements of phones relative to the victim's phone cuz u doh know what phone being used to order the hit.

....Police said an intelligence briefing held last week did not outline any clear intelligence to suggest Hector’s work as a prosecutor led to his murder.

Update... charges dropped... because... is trinidad...

Charges against ex-SSA employees, police officer dropped

Charges against two former employees of the Strategic Services Agency (SSA) and a police officer have been dropped by the court because the prosecution failed to comply with court directives, including the timely preparation and prosecution of the case.

Master Kimitra Gray freed Ian Albert Ezekiel Brown, pastor of the Jerusalem Bride Church and self-proclaimed spy; Sgt Sherwin Waldron, who was formerly assigned to the Special Operations Response Team (SORT); and former security supervisor of the SSA Susan Portell-Griffith.

The three were freed on February 26, after the state failed to progress the case.

They were charged late on May 20, 2024, with multiple counts of misbehaviour in public office related to the alleged transfer and possession of firearms and ammunition.

Their re-arrest and charges against them came 24 hours after the three, along with fired SSA director Major Roger Best, had been released from custody.

Best was fired on May 18, 2024, which was announced in a statement from the Ministry of National Security that Minister Fitzgerald Hinds had advised acting President Nigel de Freitas to terminate Best’s appointment as director of the elite agency with immediate effect.

Best remained in custody after police detained him for questioning on May 16, but was released days later.

In early March, the Prime Minister, as head of the National Security Council, recalled retired Brig Gen Anthony Phillips-Spencer, ambassador to the US, to replace Best.

Dr Rowley announced Best’s suspension shortly after he met with the Central Intelligence Agency director and other top US intelligence officials on a trip to Washington, DC. Rowley said the reason for the decision was an impending threat to national security.

In mid-March, then-Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher dismissed Brown as a special reserve police officer.
