Survivorship bias. I sure it have many multi millionaires with gender studies degrees.
Joel Osteen coulda tithe his way to millions without a high school diploma if he wanted to.

Survivorship bias is usually focused on the individual instead of the group.
It's a case of people using the exception and not the norm as their example.
If you were to take all the persons who have gender studies degrees, what percentage of them used it and were able to make a living off of it.
I'd wager it's a low value.

Trinidad has an OJT programme. So if the job requires around 2 years (or less) experience, then it would simply be easy for the majority of the population to apply.ruffneck_12 wrote:Hadda come out university with 20 years experience at 21 years old an ting
Some farmers want to have a better grasp of the theoretical aspects of their field and would understand better within a classroom setting.hover11 wrote:Why do ppl have Bsc in agriculture in Trinidad ?

Even with masters degrees people struggle to get hired. The term is academic saturation, more and more people are graduating with higher level degrees thus taking down the perceived value of said university degrees. A bachelors degree has been the modern day version of a CSEC certificate with a masters shortly becoming one as well. The age old question remains, what makes your piece of paper better than mine? Employers want all these employees with years of experience but forget you still have to train the staff in some form to handle the job at hand.Jared Mohammed wrote:Trinidad has an OJT programme. That doesn't make sense. The amount of enrollment has steadily decreased for both the undergraduate level and postgraduate level. And most jobs that require do not require more than a Bachelor's degree (odd exceptions requiring a diploma could also be added).hover11 wrote:Even with masters degrees people struggle to get hired. May I ask what degree and/or profession you are currently doing.timelapse wrote:Most useless degree in 2023.Anything gender studies based. An agenda should never be masqueraded as education.
Before you state something meaningful such as tax education and social security/welfare services be apart of the curriculum, you want to include something which is a low priority. Why?Jared Mohammed wrote:May I ask what degree and/or profession you are currently doing.timelapse wrote:Most useless degree in 2023.Anything gender studies based. An agenda should never be masqueraded as education.
Considering the domestic violence and harrassment women have to go through,I believe gender studies should be implmented into every school's curriculum.

There are more important things on the plate before we can take on gender pronouns.
Food security being the main one
Those are good topics but are not related to the main title where they talked about "useless degrees".hover11 wrote:Before you state something meaningful such as tax education and social security/welfare services be apart of the curriculum, you want to include something which is a low priority. Yeah. Male violence occurs due to other men and often not on the basis for their gender.alfa wrote:Jared Mohammed wrote:May I ask what degree and/or profession you are currently doing.timelapse wrote:Most useless degree in 2023.Anything gender studies based. An agenda should never be masqueraded as education.

You do realize way more men than women fall prey to violence on a daily basis right? How many men got killed in Janurary alone?
For the first statement, do you have any sources to back up your claim. If not, it is an assumption.ProtonPowder wrote:Knowledge of gender issues does nothing for stemming violence. Many predatory men lurk within within those programmes and NGOs simply because it gives them access to vulnerable women while appearing to be allies.
Jared, you really showing your age and inexperience here.

Example of an article that discredits that claim:

For the second statement, that is essentially making alot men seem heartless and prone to being predatory. Which is worse than what y'all think I am doing since I am just pointing out the problems and not classifying one group as monsters.
And there is also the fact that you haven't provided a source that verifies your claim.

And also, I never stated that men cannot be abused. In a previous post, I said that women are more likely to be abused and harrassed than men. Not that it doesn't exist for men.

what about domestic violence against men?
i guessing that doesnt exist to you. you need to think for yourself rather than regurgitate snowflake and cancel culture.
I've also noticed you ignore valid and logical questions that you cannot navigate to answer without sounding wrong.
Because if you do not have evidence for your reasoning, then it becomes a baseless accusation without any merit towards it.ProtonPowder wrote:Jared Mohammed wrote:For the first statement, do you have any sources to back up your claim. Jared is the kinda man that would ask people to cite life experience in APA 6th edition.
As you grow older you will learn one or two things outside of an academic context. You would probably learn that most life lessons can't easily be put into words.
That is a problem with toxic masculinity in men and other societal issues such as the economic situation for citizens on the metaphorical poverty line.alfa wrote:Jared Mohammed wrote:Yeah. So because it's not on the basis of gender it's ok for men to kill each other and for people like you not to care because gender isn't involved? Why am I not surprised
I do think their should be shelters in place to protect men. There have been feminist groups and organizations that have contrinuted to male domestic violence shelters.st7 wrote:st7 wrote:Jared Mohammed wrote:May I ask what degree and/or profession you are currently doing.timelapse wrote:Most useless degree in 2023.Anything gender studies based. An agenda should never be masqueraded as education.
