Is carnival about showing off your money now?

Truck music came in handy. I did a lot of work around the house to the soca tunes. Had some decent tunes this year.

Yeah true this year really did have some good tunes.

If it is that people are spending so much money and are bringing themselves closer to debt, then shouldn't productivity increase after Carnival in that they should be working harder to get things done to earn money?

Or is Trinidad and Tobago not a real place so that doesn't matter.

If they could put this kind of effort into being productive.

Pple get up at 3am to go jouvert.

The effort in picking up the kinda things they did in fetes, if they can put that into work, just imagine.

The problem is that their is no pride in a job well done or thinking about your team, I worked the Carnival weekend without complaint because to call in sick or not show up puts strain on your team. There are adequate provisions to receive time off without having to stress out teammates.

Operations manager in a large company. I'm in my early 50s, not in a small church or a overly zealous Christian denomination. I just happen to be one of the few who doesn't fall for this carnival charade.

The road was dead empty on the way to work this morning, it was glorious. Figured I would get rell sheit done with the extra 20 minutes i had.

The ethernet was down at work until 11am. Couldnt do a thing until then.
