gourmet groceries usually carry stuff you don't find at the conventional groceries places like hilo only now catching up before you would be hard pressed to find sushi rice or sea weed sheets

Don't see the point of that....they losing business? Nope. they have a PR issue? Nope.. seems like a waste, and the strat. managment people there need a kick up the behind...

They say dey wanna keep Hi-lo consistent with Bajans and guyanese stores...OK...but then what they need is like in UK/Europe, self-checkout for small items, and a high-end chain...and a branch in downtown POS. They'd make plenty money if they had like a Tesco Express (like dey does have in London) on Ind. Sq or Frederick Street and sell small tings..

What about Massy Foods knock off brand supermarkets wonder why they did not change or rebrand those business units within the retail group ( the former LB's and Food masters)
