^ My mom drives an X-Trail Classic, very practical vehicle. But that design came out in 2001 and hasnt changed since!

I KNOW why you like the Suby though, very obvious. Toys and more toys. Electronics and gizmos...LCD screens and tech.

DING DING DING,look ah man hit it on the head there, the nerd cant resist it
LOL true the tech is very appealing

the other thing is I don't see how a pickup is a family vehicle - the Vigo Space Ship created that new category.

If it was for me alone, I'd buy a pickup and put on some swampers, lift kit, snorkel, bush bars and winch - but it's to drop the kid to school and go to the supermarket etc.

looks cool
I don't know what it shows exactly, will find out

and what does fully loaded entail?
Sunroof, 7 airbags etc?

The XV comes in 3 different trim levels in other markets, but it looks like N&M is bringing in the highest level minus the Navigation system, full leather seats and powered front seats. The extras we're getting include HID headlights, cruise control and radio controls on the steering wheel, paddle shifters (even though its CVT) and sunroof. The rest like the 7 airbags, Bluetooth wireless, In-dash single CD player that is MP3/WMA/iPod compatible, Multi-Function Display unit, Automatic Stop Start,USB Connection, Vehicle Dynamics Control system and rear reverse camera is standard on all models.

The only things I personally don't like about it after seeing it in person are these new Subaru rear lights and the rims. The rims can be painted but you can't do much about the rear. The person I went to test it with is supposed to put a down-payment on one this week, after weighing the options against the other competitors.

Deciding factors: She didn't want a pick-up because she does not want to climb on to the back to get her stuff if it shifts around while driving (groceries etc.), the XV's ground clearance is also higher than most of the others in its class, even though it looks lower, and you get more features overall for the price.

Their Aussie site has a good description on it: http://subaru.com.au/newxv

BTW, the 2.5 Legacy turbo is $500K, for the guy who was comparing.....

Anyone test drove the XV yet? Interested in the Auto Start/Stop feature.

Does it feel effortless, is there a noticeable delay in traffic to get moving again?

I test drove it twice, once in traffic and didn't even know it had the start/stop feature until I saw it on the feature list afterwards.

im curious how well the battery powers the a/c compressor while the vehicle is stuck in traffic.....the MY08 imprezas suffer in midday sun on idle with their small compressor....so i wanna know if they thought out this issue properly for a hot country like ours

guys.....when u go to test it ( if u haven't already)......stop somewhere for a while in hot sun and see how the a/c copes with the engine off

also, is there a way to turn off the auto start-stop?

I've seen a few on the road.

N&M sold out all the stock they had. The sales staff commented that alot of people who came in to buy Foresters ended up buying the XV after test driving it.
