People on a serious note this post should go on the stickies section in which tips for preparation for an earthquake should be posted.

Tips being items you can keep at home , work and in your car if caught during an earthquake so you or your family can be comfortable and safe during that period.
For many years we just had minor quakes but according to UWI sesmic team a big one is due or overdue.
Floods, storms and hurricanes we can get advanced warnings within days or hours to make the necessary preparation but earthquakes their are no warning at all.

Imagine getting caught in an earthquake in trinidad in morning or evening rush hour traffic under or on a flyover. Or in Port of Spain in a crowded street with those massive glass filled buildings or on the beetham in grid locked traffic, ( some old people say port of spain belongs to the sea ie the sea was filled up to make land for some of those fancy buildings and it is possible during an earthquake the sea will claim back some of these lands ).

No country in the world is prephared for a major earthquake ( my opnion ) not even the mighty USA. Worst yet our local governmant services ie healthcare, police, fire, ODPM etc so after a moderate or major earthquake you have to be on your own wrt protecting yourself and family as well as providing.

Look at the problems we have with our healthcare system now , problems wrt water during the dry season , flooding during the rainy season and also the crime rate.
After a moderate or major earthquake all of these issues will be much worst a total breakdown of law and order. WE WILL HAVE TO BE OUR OWN POLICE, FIRE & MEDICAL EMERGENCY PERSONEL and if we are not ready for this well I dont know..

All of the earthquake preparation tips I have seen on line caters for a US enviroment or society / culture wrt types of food and water for storage etc.
Perhaps we can prepare some tips for our local enviroment or culture ie what type of food to store as emergency foods etc.

Again we just cant talk , we have to act on it perhaps we can prepare one such kit for a car or the workplace.

Honestly the first thing that went to my mind was to post on tuner.. Then I went under the bed
