To All Who Wrote In This Thread...
Thank you so much. My name is Sarya and I am Nigel's girlfriend. I finally got the courage to come online and see for myself all the wonderful things that you all had to say about Nigel. It was truly heartfelt and I appreciated all the condolences, calls, and all who visited to "wake" with me and my family.
I had the proud/unfortunate task of having to read his eulogy. In it I mentioned that he had a great last day while on Earth. He shopped for rims for my car, he ate Chinese food (shrimp and jasmine rice), he limed and laughed with friends, he played pool, and he drove his Mini. I told him how much I loved him numerous times throughout the day like I usually do. Before I left him to go home, I hugged him tight and kissed him and told him again. I also knew how much he loved me.
While the circumstances surrounding his death are still a mystery and I believe what I want to keep on being able to live, please do not forget to learn from this tragedy. For one, ensure all parts on your car...especially your tyres... are road-worthy. Secondly, do not speed. Again, I cannot say whether Nigel was speeding that night or not so kindly do not tarnish his name by saying that he was racing or doing any of the sort. I have come to learn in his death, that he was a bit wild and creative but he tried to keep safety his number one priority.
It is interesting to read and hear what his friends and strangers thought of him. I was so very fortunate to know a side of him that no one else does and which I will never be able to share. We had many plans for our future together.
Everyday is a struggle, blessing...whichever you make of the 24 hours you are given. If you, as his friends, hurt so much for his passing, can you imagine what it feels like to be me? Right now, I really would appreciate if you kept Nigel and myself in your daily prayers.
Lastly, I again thank everyone for their support and best wishes. It is very comforting to have this thread up and I am sure I will be visiting it soon again.
Yours Sincerely,
Sarya
