The deceased was identified as Kevin Constantine, of Grasshopper Lane in Diego Martin.
Reports said, around 1 a.m., Constantine was in a grey Mazda 323 proceeding east along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway when the vehicle came into contact with a blue Mitsubishi Lancer.
At the time, the Lancer was attempting to manoeuvre north onto Trincity Central Road.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage on impact.
Constantine suffered fatal injuries.
He died at the scene.
The driver of the Lancer, a police officer from Freeport, also suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope.

Seeing ppl say the driver who fled is a soldier. Hope this isn't swept under the carpet as happens when a member of the protective services is involvedVexXx Dogg wrote:That poor truck man didn't even see what was coming.
I hope the driver faces jail time, plus having to pay heavy $$ restitution to the driver's family.
