From reading social media, like all of T&T felt this one. Thank goodness the epicenter wasn't here.

Expect an aftershock at around 4.5 to 5 at the epicenter whenever it happens.

Caribbean plate?

I'm too lazy to check it but how often we get an event from that origin? It's magnitude was close to that of 2018 and if memory serves me correctly it's one large quake every 10 years and a smaller one on the half decade anniversary. We had an event in 2008, 2013, 2018 and now 2024. 2008 and 2018 were very noticeable. Do these have the same origin and how far back does this go?

It’s easy for individuals not to feel it based on what they were doing at the time. It was close to midnight so many people were asleep. It was strong enough to awake my wife in central … I was awake but it was very noticeable. Family in La brea felt it strong.
Family in the west felt it strong too.

that's 20 aftershocks so far!!!

"According to the UWI SRC, the largest of the six aftershocks (greater than magnitude 2.5) occurred at 3:47 AM and 5:51 AM, registering magnitudes of 3.9 and 4.0, respectively. Since 11:58 PM Saturday, over 20 aftershocks have been recorded northwest of Trinidad through 5:30 PM Sunday."

Better we have a ton of small aftershocks than the movement is collected into one big one

In sando I felt it. But, I was the only one in the house to feel it, and everyone was awake at the time and not far away from each other.

Seems like the west felt it stronger than the east. One of my aunts in the west said the shaking was strong and she thought her house was going to collapse!

While in Arima I only felt a slight shake for a few seconds and only a rattling vase and my quake alarm sounded for a while.
