Local Talk Show Host ~ Marcia Henville


Marcia Henville was a well known media personality - Journalist and Looptt Community writer - having hosted programmes on both Radio and Television

She was also know for her acting roles both on the big screen and on stage and her involvement in the representation of the public in various national social issues

Henville, known for her larger than life personality, colourful fashion sense and fearless journalism, was also the host of TV6′s Point Blank show.

Born in England to Trinidadian parents, Henville emigrated to Trinidad where she made a name for herself as a journalist, working with Trinidad Express and Gayelle, among others.

She was a community activist, who loved reporting about the grassroots.

Henville was also an actor, last appearing in A Story About Wendy parts one and two.

Henville is survived by her two children.

Condolences go out to the family and friends of news personality Marcia Henville who perished in a fire in her home last night.

Found at La Vega Estate in Gran Couva Central - Trinidad

The word "Anhinga" comes from the Brazilian Tupi language and means devil bird or snake bird

Anhinga species are found all over the world in warm shallow waters

Anhinga can be found mainly east of the Andes in South America and also the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago

Local WaterFalls ~ Habio Waterfalls


A scenic waterfall tumbling from the foothills of Mt. El Tucuche is Habio

Located deep inside the Rincon Valley, it is the third tallest waterfall at approximately 200 feet .

There are two main routes to access the falls the first is a uphill trek from Rincon Village in Las Cuevas ,while the second route is from the El Tucuche Bench Road in Acono, Maracas St .Joseph

Unlike any other Habio is a sprinkle type falls with numerous overflows cascading on the rocks.

It is best explored in the rainy season where the water levels are at it's fullest.

At the base there is a small plunge pool suitable for bathing or there is the option to escalate the rocks for a refreshing shower.
