Why they dont just realise that no one want them back in power. IF this holds up in court, and thats a big IF, I think their sourness will cause to lose even more ground.

This is my last reply on the matter, it's a useless discussion. Things are what they are. Everybody knows the facts, if they don't know then they can use Google.

Doesn't matter if Randy is a practicing Hindu or not. His comment clearly shows that he is influenced by the same beliefs about inferiority and superiority based on race. When I see certain colorist comments from Americans I also label that as Hindu influence. In the same way, some atheists talk about things being "right" or "wrong", and you immediately know they are influenced by Biblical beliefs. Why? Because in certain matters, there is no other religious book that would define those things as "right" or "wrong" - they are ideas unique to the Bible. The Caste system as a religious belief is something unique, and encourages a unique way of thinking and doing. So I can identify that way of thinking as being influenced by Hinduism.

Dont believe everything on Google...lol..

You know what, I'm beginning to think that Kamla and Friends will run the UNC into the ground. She will do irreparable damage and waste time that could've been spent on rebuilding the party and preparing for the Local Gov't/THA/General Elections. And in the meantime the ILP might rise really high under the new leader they are selecting this October.

The most astonishing possibility is that by 2018, UNC might be a non-entity for elections and it'll be ILP vs PNM, with MSJ "splitting votes" (if they get big financiers). That is what might happen if Kamla + Moonilal et al., do not stop these crazy actions immediately. They even have UNC supporters turning on them now because they are going too far and crippling a party that is already reeling from the past 5 years of instability.

I cannot believe that Mrs. Persad-Bissessar got 18 ministers to sign a document supporting her as political leader. This means she is already fighting those who say to step down or arrange the internal elections. The fact she needs to face is that UNC is supposed to be a democratic party. That means you don't block others by delaying the internal elections for 5+ years. She still doesn't want elections to happen and that is probably the purpose of that endorsement document with all the signatures. I am sorry to say that she may be forced out of her position in the end, in an undignified way, it is better to quietly step down with dignity now.

Except we are a Republic with a constitution. So it's not as simple as the popular vote prevails.
In our case we have electoral districts.
The party who wins the most districts wins the election.
It's meant to ensure representation of all sectors of the country. Not just large numbers concentrated in on area or another.
Most countries which are referred to as Democracies are actually Republics, the USA is a prime example.
In a true democracy there is no protection for the minority, the majority takes all.

dunno if this is some kind of plot to further destroy the UNC. Why would kamla push this nonsense? Rowley won fair and square.

She already pissed off everyone with this exhausting 80 day notice for election now she want to extend it even more? do they really want to give the PNM a 2/3 majority? Make no mistake if they call another election the PNM winning more seats.

I bet Rodney Charles is behind all of this seeing that he is clearly working for the PNM. Dunno how kamla and the cabal eh realize this as yet.

Why would Kamla purposely destroy the UNC when it is the party she wants to rule?

Oh wait...maybe if she doesn't get her way, she might take her 18 ministers and walk. "Keep me as Opposition Leader or I'm gone", that kind of thing is possible. She is probably confident right now because of her 300,000+ voters. Wow...I didn't think of that.

Let's hope that's not the plan, because she will wreck the party (temporarily, thus wasting precious time) and on her own she won't succeed anyway.

lulz... what did i do? jus saying this thing may not stand in court. if it did, then she has to hope the marginal now-PNM seats swing back... not likely, but then not impossible on both fronts, especially since she need to prove EBC breached the rules.

But what if Mrs. Persad-Bissessar does leave the UNC with her 18 ministers, and forms her own new party? Then Rodney Charles and Padarath will advise her on what to name it etc.

The official party color will be bubblegum pink, and it will be called Movement of Love (MOL). Because Errol Fabien's party isn't well-known anyway, so she can take the word "love." If she hates the word Movement, that is understandable, so it can be Family of Love (FOL), Revolution of Love (ROL) or even Locomotion of Love (LOL)

The logo will be a lovely headshot of Kamla smiling caringly and there will be sunrays shining from behind her head, onto some patches of green grass and trees that look like broccoli florets.

It would be enchanting. The entertainment value of this is already amazing.

UNC may have the openly racist and very disgusting supporters but on reading facebook pages like the one run by former PNM senator Tina Grolund Nunez clearly PNM has the closeted but equally disgusting racists.

The only positive so far in the past two days has been the decorum and magnanimity of Dr Rowley which is clearly in stark contrast to a large portion of the red and ready crew.

what the PNM "gave" this country 5-10 yrs ago was sufficient to not be considered for the government for at least 15 yrs in my book. Trinbagonians sure have short memories...

The 2010 campaign was a defining one, Trinis were fedup of corruption so they voted Manning out halfway into his term.
Kams and the UNC were elected because they promised a new politics, they promised to deal with corruption.
Instead we got one of the most corrupt, non-inclusive, high-handed governments in recent history. The UNC believed they could do as they please while presenting clean spotless Kamla as the mother of the nation.
Kamla was voted out based on the standards that she set for herself.
Now she and her supporters are claiming sour grapes and embarking on all manner of petty folly, while the rest of the country is moving on.
Rowley and the current iteration of the PNM will suffer the same fate if they do not live up to their promises.

People need to stop fooling themselves into thinking that this country is half PNM and half UNC. The "floating vote" is a very large segment which does not vote on race but on issue. The issue this time was corruption, and the voters spoke.

The PNM got the popular vote!!

according to EBC figures the PNM got about 95,000 more votes than the UNC

Approx 377,000 to 282,000

The COP got approx 44,000

If you total the partnership votes the PNM still in front by about 51,000
