That one incident shows how inefficient we are in dealing with minor problems. How difficult would it have been to get a tractor from MoWt or a regional corp to remove that debris??

Time of day and volume of traffic so the effect was especially bad . Also that needs to be thoroughly cleaned . Also we really have to consider diverting traffic allow the opposite side in some of these cases using the police posts in the median.these things happen to often that partial solutions can’t be made

Backhoe and a water truck with a pump...Time and time again these things happen, from a stalled truck to situations like these and yet still nothing in place.

taking responsibility and action is always the issue.

mowt ain’t doing that for sure, best bet would be nearest local city corp if they have the equipment and manpower but who there gonna take initiative

as usual the quickest option would be call private contractor

And if it's after 4pm....who calling the shot?
Who paying the staff to come out.
Who paying if the equipment get damaged etc?

the best bet really is to outfit the fireservices with a backhoe and train their staff to use
they already typically come out on call to accidents but their union will kick a fuss and say they are not about clearing a disaster area, only to stop and contain.

of course a backhoe is a hot commodity and may find its way doing a lot of pjs and getting lack of maintenance.

And it have so much backhoe, tractor, everything in the regiment doing nothing! And there are ppl who trained to use it on the base.

Private contractor is really the best and cheapest bet.

Someone have to given the authority and funds to make the decision though.

Plenty insurance polices max coverage for fully comp is 500k. Not sure if that change.

Anything beyond that 500k you hadda cover on your own if its your fault or go after the person who hit you personally.

Usually covered higher when you have other assets in the portfolio. Then again they will quote you, all up to you to pay it.
