OP, with your knowledge and experience, go into private consulting for smaller contractors who have to outsource the expertise. Put an ad on here or the newspapers and look to operate from your home. Private consultancy is not a bad option for you, especially in your field. You also have to deal with lower overheads and can price your per hr. charges or per job charges very competitively because of this. Bite the bullet and make a start, you might be surprised of you get a few small jobs to consult on it might actually be worthwhile.

I'm young and being unemployed is a big strain at the moment since it's only my mother and I. I don't know where to turn to...but I need to find something or as a matter of fact anything as soon as possible. I was considering joining the police force and use the income to pay for tuition. I don't even know when ttps will be recruiting again. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Almost Three years later Im a police constable attached to the CID with 14 months experience.

Just a little reflection on this post and gratitude to all those who have assisted in sharing info, the TTPS is not just a place to grab a salary. Alot to learn and the work and procedure is indeed interesting. Alot of avenues for promotions and many sections to work in. This career has become a part of me and Im working as hard as I can to uphold the professionalism and efficiency required by the Public for a better TTPS.

So what's the general opinion on the inside on the new CoP?

Definitely more involved in the work and management purposes however the murder toll is still high. Making big drug busts arent stopping the murder figures but its still slowly winning back the trust of the Public #GG #2G

Not directed at rere but the police service is filled with idiots with no knowledge in places they have no reason to be in.
Person in tactical sections that are consummate cowards just collecting overtime.
Detectives that have no investigate skills, can't take a proper statement or interview a suspect.
Last experience I had with cid the majority of officers had no matters in court. How you could be a detective but not detecting any offences.

interesting
so tell us rs, how does that really make you feel

boi, the issue is a setta the wrong type of ppl enlisting in the ttps. & this type of person only in it for a pips & a steady pay check & got no ambition or desire to live up to what the job entails. & that ain't limited to the ttps either

Lol
The ttps is the definition of lunacy.
Doing the same thing but expecting different results.

'it had x amount of homicides at y location, send all the patrols'

All reactionary no proactive measures at all.
If the new COP smart he'll get rid of that executive around him. They never had an original idea in their life. Except for maybe Phillip who is a real crime fighter but his attitude stinks
