What causes blue/pink vertical lines on a television??

Damaged ribbon cable....


not necessarily damaged ribbon cable. the adhesive thats used to stick the ribbon cable onto the screen gets old and weak and brittle....heating cooling cycles....and well it releases...

you can try to open it up and restick it....

If it under warranty, get that sorted. But I would not advise opening any electronics like that if you're not an expert, or don't have the training. Capacitors these days different for those modern large TVs and displays, and modern circuit boards have layers that are paper thin and so easy to rip without even knowing it... like you could be trying to pull out a ribbon cable and a solder pad can easily tear.

Best to carry it to repair and spend your money and a repair guarantee there.

Thanks for the input guys....was working fine up to 3 days ago and only when I put on the tele this morning I saw three vertical lines on the screen...any recommendations for a good tv repair guy ?
