Criticizing the last admin for bobol and mismanagement, then trying to get a 21 year old, leaky, unseaworthy, unsafe vessel shoved down our throats, by a company with a grand total of 2 years maritime experience. Way to go Roundabout, Lewis (C) and Lewis(A).
Then by way of sanction, JUHN Scarfy gives the same set of incompetents, the green light to redouble their efforts, and possibly their bank account, to again try to get a ferry!

Doh beat up, CPL will finish, and given our dismal record of attracting international Tests, ODI's etc, the Tarouba Stadium's white elephant status will be assured.

They removed the landmark Clock from Library Corner in San Fernando. It is "expected to be placed in a spot close its previous position" which roughly translates to: "we eh know where to put it, buh gih de burgesses dat so they go keep they arse quiet".

The island upon which the clock stood separated two lanes of traffic. Still trying to figure out how removing it helps congestion in the city... :?

Congestion in that area of san fernando is caused mostly by taxi drivers, especially PH, parking all how and blocking lanes. Then you have the trucks offloading goods in some areas blocking lanes. High St, Mucurapo St and Point a Pierre Road does be dred when it have no officers around.

Although Regrello is a waste of time for the most part, i will give him props for trying something radically different. Let's see how it goes.

So far, I have to say the works are a resounding overall improvement.

The taxi men are as much to blame if not more, than the ph men.

From the photos, it seems as though the removed the island upon which the clock stood. So they probably making a different road way.

It's radical and better, oversll. So let him continue.

I've been meaning to find out, if that new exit connects to that offramp, then vehicles coming off there can only turn left. But I have a feeling they will allow right turns and chaos will be had.

Now there are plans to move the "Last Train to San Fernando" because, well the City is over-saturated with vehicles... :|

They'll probably demolish the Carnegie Library and move the Promenade next...

It's been two years and still nothing. I suspect that in the short time remaining there will still be ZERO achievements from this government.

Nonsense. The rapid rail project was to be financed and built by the IDB de boss. International practice that those large infrastructure projects are built by loaning agencies. Just because we, against all sound advice decided to finance a highway from our own treasury does not mean it's the norm, its the exception

The rapid rail could build all now. The idb operates on the proviso that in the medium to long term, you will be able to pay back the money. Bolivia for example, was in the jaws of the imf for decades, since the 70s. When their economy started to grow in the mid 2000s and the idb were the first to start building infrastructural projects like dams and railways. Conversely, for years all haiti could get out of the idb were useless MOU's because the loaners thought that the risk of not getting any return on the loans was high. Trinidad despite the recession is still a very promising environment for investment. It just isn't politically expedient to build it now
