Short answer, there isn't any.
As best i can venture a guess, the GN prescribing smoothbore .177 or lower being not classified as a firearm was passed at a time when smoothbore airguns were relatively common. Thing is tho that rifled barrels were just as common at that time as well.

In all my searches, there are absolutely no documents showing the rationale or logic of that GN or why it was implemented.

So...they spending time effort money enforcing a law that there is no rationale for?

Maybe the arguments should begin at getting an explanation on WHY this is the law?

Good question. I knw men in previous yrs brought it via Web source I believe but I understand their policies regarding these have since been tightened. Maybe with a air rifle import permit one can supposedly import a scope seeing tht all available online are rifled bore. A scope should be a legally allowed concession by customs.

I also wanted to bring in one but always had a feeling that they would seize it on the premise of - how we sure it's really for an air rifle?

I know of one person that HAS the connections in the TTPs-6 months ago maybe he chose to let some one bring it in with them...his view was that the sights would be held by customs if he mailed it.

Som guy walked it through on his person

Based on the wording of the law he said that they would view any accessory as a full fire arm.....

Basically...this!

I had my skybox (websource) refuse to ship it to trinidad on the premise that homeland security has instructed them that no scopes/lasers or potential firearm accessories can be exported from the US.

On the other end..i know plenty men who get thru with scopes/lasers/pellets etc thru other skybox with no issues.

I don't think it should be a problem once within the limits of the law and in possession of your permit.

Parlour owner Stephen Singh who shot his neighbour in the head because he feared his wife would be raped, has been found not guilty of the offence.

Singh's air rifle, which he used to shoot Wayne Vesprey was ordered returned to Singh.

And the State can expect to be sued by Singh for malicious prosecution, says his attorney Kevin Ratiram who believes his client should never have been charged in the first place.

Singh's case was one of self defence. He testified that Vesprey came to his shop and with slurred speech ordered a nip of Puncheon which Singh refused to sell him. Singh said Vesprey was owing for rum he had taken in the past. He said Vesprey started cursing and said he would rape his (Singh's) wife. Singh, 63, testified that Vesprey shook the gate which separated him from Vesprey, and it opened. He said Vesprey grabbed for his wife and this was when Singh took the pellet gun and shot at him. He said he did not aim at any particular part of Vesprey's body. The former boat captain was shot on his forehead.

The State's case was that Vesprey went to the parlour and he and Singh had an argument and Singh shot him. Vesprey said he and Singh had also argued earlier in the day.

The jury took 20 minutes to return with the not guilty verdict Justice Malcolm Holdip ordered that the gun be returned to Singh after he got his required licence.
Singh was represented by attorney Kevin Ratiram. Attorneys Stacy Laloo-Ching and Krishna Jaglal appeared on behalf of the State.

I think would be more, a marauder is $10.5k
Armada is more expensive

Same guts though only paying for cosmetic differences

Benjamins are pretty good once u willing to look for any issues
Fully shrouded and quiet

there really is no point in buying an armada except for bling.

Centerfire is a kinda smartman place(like most gun dealers),

one week they told me $10k then couple days when I went to buy they say 10.5k
the stories I later heard about the owner from guys who were range members long time left a lot to be desired lol

gun business attracts a lot of "characters" the only places I have heard good things in general from are agostinis and abass

With a mod I get 50-60+ shots from one fill

I keep getting different answers everytime I ask this.

The Singh guy was in court with known possession of one and I didn't read anything about a charge for no permit.

Is the permit to posses one or to import one?

If it's .177 caliber and not rifled bore then its not classed as a firearm according to the law.

So, why do we need a permit for possession of it? And what grounds are the police using to seize it from Singh but not charge him.
