There are still a lot of things we can all try to possibly create some positive impact call the initiative 'Taking control of our future'.
Some things to attempt;
-Resolve to give committed work for results whilst on the job.
-Reduce our monthly recreation expenditure by 40%.
-Reduce our monthly recurrent expenditure by 20%.
-If possible or necessary approach bankers for debt restructuring.
We must start somewhere and build momentum.
BTW, 2 cell phones and time spent texting, whatsappin and talking about nothing that matters are both a waste of money and time.

its like the same complaint about the vsep package the other day..... if it's the same as the severance..... there's no guideline for that having to be more.

what i would think the governement should've done years ago was copy the model from aruba - when the refinery was dwindling, they put all focus and effort into tourism (late for that now i believe); eventually there as a surge and the refinery started back (now it's down again due to come back up soon after being converted to a gas facility) but tourism remains aruba (and netherlands) focus

IMO those IPSL workers will receive little sympathy from John Public when they announce salaries such as that guy in the vid with his $57k a month. Probably unjustified given the risk involved however thats just how the average Trini thinks.

That fella in the video is a ****** but not going into that matter now. Begging to go cepep now with he 57k monthly. Chupez it have men never work for 1/4 that salary in they life monthly and doh be crying so for work to pay loan. Ppl does make do with what they have ,but because they eye open big for so long they feel such is life. They does really say is only the ones who have does always beg for more and the man who ketching he tail to make ends meet does fight it through with less complaints.

The familiar PNM Defence Force seem not to realize that persons calling on Government to help might simply be venting their frustration. Everyone knows that from Arcelor Mittal, to MHTL and dozens of other companies before, there is no help from this Government, whether they can or not.
The National registry of unemployed? Nada
Truck driving in Canada? Zilch.
Yet, they will kowtow to the unions and haemorrhage billions at Petrotrin, and other State enterprises.

I remember the guy in the video. An interesting character to say the least.
But the reality is that a lot of the workers in the methanol plants don't make anything close to his salary.
I personally don't even think he should have said a figure in the first place. It just leaves a bad taste in people's mouth.
I always wondered why ipsl was never able to get a union of the ground. At least if they did the lower level men could have gotten something.
But props to cnc3, I know the narrative they're going for...

Interesting character because you all know him or because his story is unique?

Saw that vid and John public was real deadly especially on social media I was reading the comments and was wtf..I didn't agree with Judy asking the guy his salary that was so wrong..hope he and all the other workers get through the changing economic transition going on and how I say no one government is to be blamed we never prepared diversification so we shall feel the rift and the worker class will always feel it

A Plant Superintendent normally makes that salary as a package which includes housing, car allowance etc. His net is not that $57K.

Heard there was a meeting today with plant managers from ax, mx and aum at the ceos office.. they were observed to have left with envelopes and grim faces.... grape vine mumbles are that 6am tmrw things will happen.

And any insight into this gas contract signed by the government and how it would affect this situation?

The new gas contract likely isn't going to celebrate into place for 15 months..and that's hopeful given installation times as its a joint venture.

they had 'dadged' the bullet last year, but they might not this rounds.
and, i also suspect more closures to be rolling out, so it would be hard to miss eventually.

Trinity is a less than honest company
they have been "speculating" for years about big oil finds etc
they caught a lot of folks investing when they had everybody think because they london based they good to go
