Ocean Shipping Issue

Postby TheBoostLord » July 27th, 2016, 10:23 am

I need some advice on this matter.

In my absence, a shipment (machine) was sent from china to trinidad in a boxed crate, via a container (LCL). Apparently there was no one looking after the shipment and the vessel came and left Trinidad, so more than likely the crate is on the port (about 2 weeks now). My broker doesnt seem to know what to do since there was no local shipping company handling the shipment. I have all the documents from the supplier (B/L, shipping docs etc.) but there is no mention of a container, only the number on the crate itself. At this point I need someone to locate the shipment and clear it through customs for me. Can anyone recommend a good company or at least what I should do next? Thanks

Can anyone explain in a step-by-step way what the process is for shipping goods down to TT? Let's use the example of furniture: If I saw something on the Lowes website and I placed an order, the next steps are.........?

Bear in mind that I don't mind paying the extra to avoid hassle and ideally would just want the goods to turn up at my gate fully cleared.

Check seaboxtt . You register with them. They assign you an address and you possibly add it to your credit card to aid with credit card verification . Then you go to lowes, etc website and order it to that address and like magic it gets delivered to your home in a few weeks and you pay shipping and taxes .it has gotten as straight forward as ordering to a skybox now. They broker everything . I always avoided shipping by sea because it seemed so tedious before
