The website FAQ says there is no contract - Can someone confirm?

Because FAQ also says 50% off for 3 months, while the Promotions page say 1 month free when you sign up for any service - which is it?

(Me eh ready to call or email yet)

I think its No contract and one month free.

Call them nah, you will get through in less than a minute, they are very helpful and the number is toll free from any phone.

Idk , what is a good ping to miami supposed to be like?

Well that first test I did was with Miami Broadwave server:

Image

this one Comcast, along with all the other Miami servers have the same ping of 43 ms:

So I guess different server better ping. Just dont use the Broadwave as your testing server I guess.

And just for reference This is my speedtest now with Massy servers:

Image

(Faster than 94% of Trinidad and Tobago Users) I like that part! :)

I had to set that back up.

massy router notes:
end users currently not allowed to logon router to configure.
while it is a N router, will only support 150Mb
Range of 70ft in that building wasn't great either, which is why routers and repeater had to be reused.

massy CSR says in future they hope to have new hardware which would allow end users able to do configurations as well as higher speeds. and will be upgraded for free.

Still hoping for them to get where I am.

Friday i call them to ask for login pw and got the same answer , they will make the changes. Bridge is not possible ? Any solution for guest users to access. With flow i had my own router with a guest access i would allow but with massy i not friendly in giving in someone my main pw. Sounds good they will upgrade for free question is when .

you can connect your old router via ethernet cable, and let that broadcast the guest network

So why they can't put it in Bridge. And don't want you to login to it?.
I asked them about open ports , they telling me about Ethernet ports behind the router Lol . and said they provide internet direct to a router. So I was think it should be just like Flow were I use my own equipment with the own in Bridge mode

Massy Internet - still not working at 100%. Lucky if I get a page to load.

Tunapuna area...any updates?

Seeing some people back to normal.

For our business services, their NOC department, indicated they're still working on the flooding issue in Martinique and they can't give an expected date where it'll be running at 100%.

Massy Internet still running under 1MB/s in Tunapuna area.

Received an e-mail indicating:

"Please be advised that the last update from our subsea provider indicated an ETR of Tuesday 9th August. Massy Communications apologizes for the inconvenience caused and will continue to update you as to the status of the repairs."

Can anyone else confirm they're having trouble? We are on their 25MB business package.

Well when I was having trouble with my residential package the last email I got was (August 2nd):

"While we are still working to fix the undersea cable in Martinique, we have been able to obtain some temporary capacity from another cable supplier.

As such you should be experiencing normal service now.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you so much for your patience."

And since this email things have been running smooth in the southland!

Received last night.

"Massy communications wishes that thank you for your patience thus far. Please note we have received an update from our provider indicating that the expected ETR for the break at Martinique has been delayed for an additional 2 days. Our engineers are engaged in working on a solution to restore services and we will inform you when this is ready. We do once again apologize for the inconvenience caused."

They've been sending progress reports twice daily.

Still no internet for our business. Residential customers should count their blessings. But I'm grateful for the updates from them. Great customer service from Massy

Massy Customer service is very good. After installation the technicians thank me for choosing their service. When massy was not up to full speeds due to fiber optics fault they email updates and the Customer reps are pleasant to talk to. It is expected that technical problems will occur but keep your customers inform , thats all. Glad i made the switch .Just hope they maintain this customer service.

Who is Massy buying bandwidth from? any chance of them running their own submarine fibre at some point like TSTT and Digicel and Flow?

Also I think internet in Trinidad is super cheap, dunno if anyone ever saw the price of internet in places like India, its actually limited internet and very expensive. It turns to dial up speed after a small bandwidth cap

Can you all use fast.com for speedtests since most ISPs are prioritizing traffic to speedtest.net?

Running a speedtest during peak hours you see a big difference in speed.

Less than a Week , I first filled out the online form then called them the next day , this was after calling Digi and the girl could not find my street on her Map then told me that as I live in a block of Apts that they will have to install a hub first then distribute I told her that I saw a crew doing a install by me but she insisted and took my info and promised that someone will call me 2 days after I called Massy and they were prompt and called me back to say when was the Install and the day of the install called me at least twice before the techs came and they were on time .

Ok, I forgot to mention a few days ago I went in one of the mobile booths to sign up.

Dunno if this was mentioned before in the thread, but according to what they told me, the "First month free" offer is for any package.
As in, you can sign up for the $175 (15/7.5 Internet only) or even the $1275 (250/125 Internet + 198 channels) package for a month, and since it is free and no contract, you can disconnect after the month, or downgrade. Just make sure to notify them in advance.

They say I should get connected in about 2 weeks max, which is good enough since I was trying to get it from September.
