You have to set up the port forwarding... Which seems dubious with Digicel as people are reporting different things. I have it working with flow. You have to go on the Plex Settings Remote Access page and click show advanced. They even offer a link "https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200931138-Troubleshooting-myPlex-Server-connections" to help. But the first thing is to sort the port forwarding on your modem/router/own router or whatever setup you have with Digi. Try portforward.com to check how do to and if ports are open.

Digicel Internet Thread

Postby WarrLordd » June 27th, 2016, 4:16 pm

Right so my issue was resolved apparently when they did the install the line outside was cut and due to rain seeping in cause it to go bad, sorta please cause I called Saturday and techs came this morning but wasn’t home I called back a little late but however the operator contacted a tech that was close by and they came in less than 15 minutes. Service back up with flow use to take two to three weeks

Hey guys, this might be slightly off topic, but for those who have gotten Digicel and run a PLEX server, have you gotten the plex server to work remotely?
Have u ever gotten ur Plex server to work remotely?
Nope. Nothing i've tried has worked because so many options on the Digital router are grayed out, can't port forward, can't put it in bridge mode nada.

I have a friend who said he has a work around so when he gets back to me if it works i'll post it here.

Digicel Router's don't let you port forward.

What's the model number on the unit? Maybe there's a workaround possible?

Hella slow here by me in Tobago. Know a couple other people reporting the same issues. No idea what's happening.

Recently changed from Flow to Digicel and noticed that ping times seem slightly higher on some US based servers. Any settings or optimisations need to be done to the Digicel modem/router for best results?

Getting really tired of Digicel now, internet speeds constantly dropping.

Affecting both internet and TV operations.

Cant watch TV and use the internet at the same time or nothing will load.

Absolutely disappointed by the service within the past 5 weeks.

It's interesting that the internet is affecting the tv because Digicel gives the tv a separate, dedicated bandwidth for that exact reason, so that it won't interfere with the internet and vice versa .

It is amazing as to how Digicel's brand new internet service can fail so quickly this thread starting to sound like the flow thread yes.

This is sad, how do you guys compare our local ISP to those in USA and Europe?

Digicel Play is becoming just like flow. started of great, now a ton of problems. Apparently they are blocking kodi and making streaming near impossible. spoke to a rep and they say give them two days to figure it out. good ting i kept flow internet. slower than the digi speed but kodi works flawless.

Kodi works fine so far for me. Also online streaming good so far. Think something off with your settings

The techs came twice... Tried everything possible.. no luck. Changed modem and still the problem exists. If I use my phone as a hotspot and stream using my data plan kodi an all streaming sites work fine.
When I initially got the service streaming was flawless. After the outage it had it was never the same. Can't even download using utorrent.
Keep getting "no connection available, ports closed, contact isp"

Sounds like settings on your end. Kodi working like a boss both tunapuna and tacarigua where I have it both doubt it's Digicel blocking anything try another device from one or two people

Yep did that. Tried various devices. Same buffering problem. No buffering when I use the data plan on my phone. That points to something wrong on Digicel end. I still have my flow connection, it works perfect on that and that connection is slower - 15mb

Pumping with Digicel internet finally. Install guys were great. TV boxes are Huawei using Android. DNS is locked down so had to call to get them to put it in so I can install my unblocker to watch Hulu. Will observe the net for the next few days and see how it works but so far so good.

Trincity. I checked and they messed up, they only put in one of the DNS. Sigh. May call to tell them not bother and just do the DNS stuff on my router.
