I want to get a 9000 BTU or lower split unit. Looking to also put a plastic curtain where I can pull at anytime to block off half my room behind me. Basically I want to sit in a little insulated box with my PC that would need a fraction of the current to cool.

Current bill too high and it gonna get higher.

^ well I plan on leaving it outside the plastic curtain. So it will cool with the Trini rastaman way natural breeze. This was built for heat anyways I running a ASUS H97M PLUS mainboard and Rosewill 750W Gold PSU with Japanese Capacitors.

I am expecting a 20 year lifespan from the whole PC except CPU which I will upgrade to an i7 later on and GPU that is easy to upgrade. An expensive mainboard was my goal so I won't have to change that in 20 years.

Sorry I asked.

Anyways, on average, how much does it cost to service a split unit?

My guy charges 300 Per unit

Which includes:
Full cleaning of filters
Cleaning blower wheel
Evaporator Coil
Flushing of drain off
Washing of the condensor unit, fan, coil.

I does get my 24000 and 12000 serviced for 500 if the both have to service together

I service my AC myself I just pull out filters and hose it down outside.

I then bring the hose inside the house and hit it evaporator coils and drains with hard 100 PSI from wasa. Then I hose down the outside unit because I have it just below my window. I also hose out the fan blades aswell and just let the carpet dry for a couple days no biggie.

Too bad the contactor stuck though so you need to disconnect the power to actually turn off the compressor. So I installing a switch going to the AC plug where I will then use a piece of stick to reach to turn it off or on that I got when I cut down my neighbor tree.

I myself have them down as my #1 choice.

Do you mind telling me how much you paid for it? So far ball park figure for a 12k inverter is anywhere between $3500.00 to $5500.00

I think I paid $6 for a 24k BTU last year
Got it from servair in Marabella.
Used to be on their website but I'm looking on Google and it's saying that their site is down.
All I remember is that it was a 21 EER rated unit

Pay the extra for the inverter over the traditional alternating current version...... IIt's about $2000 difference... But you'll save in the long term

I am in the market for a new AC this frigidaire giving out. A guy told me $1200 to replace the inside unit the whole thing. But its the contactor I THINK is the issue cause sometimes like the compressor won't turn off even if you turn off the power on the remote but recently it started back working normal. Not sure how long it will work for.

I am thinking going 9K BTU Panasonic or LG? the room is a 8X10 feet and the ceiling is 10 feet high. Its a small room and I want to believe a 9K BTU will be just fine as the 12K BTU is often overpowered. May even save some current with this new light bill Rowley going to raise.

I don't use my AC 24/7 anymore, I use it maybe 6 hours a day. Some days I don't use it at all in an attempt to save on my electric bill. So I am thinking at this rate a Panasonic might last me 10 years or so. Any thoughts?

Ideas on what price a 9k Panasonic or LG might go for? I am tired of these nasty latrine sticker brands with their cheap dog sheit parts. Failing contactors and having to replace an entire circuit board because the contactor is soldered onto the circuit board instead of being on the compressor unit is one of the issues with mini split units I have. I can replace run start capacitor or outdoor fan capacitor but dabbling with the indoor unit is hard stuff. SO i need something concrete when it comes to reliability.

I am not interested in inverter I won't run it much for electric to be an issue and inverters are expensive,.

I would go lennox but it looks like the regular sticker brand crap.

Consider a 12k btu might be just a few hundred dollars more and it will have to run for less time to do the work a 9k btu will do and save you current in the long run.

Your unit has a contactor btw? Sounds like relay playing up.

Yeah all these split units has the relay or contactor or what not is on the inside circuit board? cause there is no contactor on the compressor I think only them American central units does carry contactors on the outside compressor.

I see cool wizzards selling Samsung Triangle Inverter for $5600 at 9K BTU and samsung claims 10 year warranty on PARTS. Well if I could get something like that but a non inverter would be good.

i feel next time samsung or panasonic has a sale I go buy a unit yes. I am almost certain panasonic and samsung uses very high quality parts.
It usually has sale on R22 models every so often. Even if I can't get parts for panasonic it will last me so long it won't matter.

I don't think inverter units come r22.
R22 12k are around $2k all now.

I am slightly biased towards the gree units because of the service I'm getting. Considering the Samsung inverter as an upgrade but I'm still unsure.

Never seen a contractor in a 9 or 12k unit yet. Seen them in 3tonn and up.

^ yeah gonna hold off and see if there might be a sale on R22 panasonics if it still has them around. I wonder how much I would get for my frigidaire 12K BTU split? clips and stuff are broken but it still holds intact and seems to be working. THink its worth anything as its still working and has a new runstart capacitor?

Not in any hurry as this AC currently working. I don't need any inverter I rather save that cash.

Important question here, who is the dealer for LG ac in trinidad?

Can you get parts for this AC down here? Courts have the 10K BTU LG Inverter for $4000

Parts is the only concern.
