What is DOTA? Serious. Want to get back into gaming.. want to open a steam account and play these things with you guys locally. Really wanted it for quake live since it went paid but the MORPG's things seem to be more social.

Defense of the Ancients, warcraft derivative, f2p and addictive. Great to watch as well.

In other news, communism killed james, he got fired for defying their their horrible production value.

Group Stage is over, Standings Updated.

Main event begins in two days at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai.

@RBphoto, if you're new to MOBA games, it'll take some time for you to be able to jump into the fray. Practice is necessary.

I used to play DOTA and HON a lot but I much more prefer HON over all of them. I have about 7000 hours in these MOBA games.

HON is more hardcore for starters they limited the turn rate in DOTA 2 to cater to noobs. In HON is fluid instant turn rate so you got to be very good if you are chasing chasing melee and ranged.

Only reason DOTA 2 so popular is because of valve they have the money cause they practically have a monopoly on Digital Distribution. But DOTA 2 is still a noob fest game much like League of Legends dumbed down to cater to noobs.

That explains why all the former hon players are subject memelords for the most epic throws in dota history.

\I agree HON has the most trolls and griefers.

But thats if you are in the scrub 1500 to 1700 bracket.

The mechanics of DOTA 2 and LoL makes it a game for noobs I am sorry but its the honest truth, DOTA 2 is dumbed down in every aspect to cater to new player and noobs.

HON only caters to hardcore players. Which is why you have taunts like the dumpster taunt where a huge garbage bin falls on your opponent's head after you kill them and the announcer says eat dumpster kid. Or with the troll baby crying when you kill the opponent.

Noobs rage quit HON so badly you won't believe it. Which is why HON has most of its players in Asia. lol you need real Asian skills to play HON and a very thick skin as trolling is supported and promoted by the developers.

Funny thing is even when you quit hon in the middle of a match the announce shouts "RRRRRAGE QUIT" so even when you rage quit it torments you. ROFL

Fact is everyone who's into mobas have played them all starting from warcraft, hon is a dead game, dota players migrated to it when it burst on the scene and back out into dota 2 when it arrived, which remains at the top with shooters like cs in esports.

DOTA 2 remains at the top because Valve has money to sponsor DOTA 2.
It is a fact that DOTA 2 is a dumbed down game for casuals. One quick feel of it and you can tell its no secret about the turn rate among other things that was dumbed down to cater to people of lesser skill, it also adds to the player base. Noob games are a bigger success than hardcore games check out COD for an example.

That nasty turn rate in DOTA 2 kills it for hardcore players. People play DOTA 2 because its marketed way better, it has developers who don't outright encourage trolling and racism.

The nasty lag simulated turn rate for noobs is just one of the issues I have with DOTA 2, the other one is the nasty political correctness that valve enforces on DOTA 2 which is why I like HON the way it is. Small toxic community where everyone abuses everyone.

Also no greater satisfaction than having this announcer taunt yell "That Avatar is too OP" when you keep getting kill streaks on someone over and over. Don't get me wrong I played all and they all have their purpose but when it comes to hardcore business HON is King. No politically correct BS to deal with and no nasty lag simulated turn rate to cater to who don't know how to chase.

^ can't beat that announcer that says "that "skin" is too op" along with the dumpster taunt.
Pure Gold! DOTA 2 has nothing of the sort because its politically correct crap.

Not to mention the cosmetics in DOTA 2 is pure failure compared to HON

This is "Lion" that you know from DOTA 2 the Partasian Skin night and day difference in quality from DOTA 2.

Watch that Sniper Ultimate Shot from "lion" aka Witch Slayer in HON.

Lion electric strike in DOTA 2 is pure garbage compared to that sniper rifle effect.
