Hey guys I live in a small community in Longdenville a couple of us in here have the Digicel fibre , we are on the business package paying about $585 per month as digicel play has not yet rolled out here. For almost a week now i noticed that i no longer am able to use netflix and youtube via my smart TV app. My neighbours in here also experienced the same issue with our TV sets, however we are able to use handheld devices using same networks. Also if i use my web browser on my tv i am able to use youtube but not netflix. Does anyone else using this fibre network experiencing this problem ? I called their help desk but the tech support seem clueless or they are not admitting to it . My field of employment is in networking so i have some clues on what i am doing. Any help would be appreciated.

Over the past week or so digicel switched everyone to ipv6 apparently. Its very buggy across a lot of devices. My ps4 has a lot of network errors despite it being working (friends search functionality etc)
Security system is affected as well. Check your ip address, if it look something like this (FE89:B3FF:FE1E:8329 etc) you're on ipv6. I haven't called to tell them switch me back to ipv4 though, so you should try contacting them about it and let us know how it goes.

Are the TVs connected directly to the digicel router?

If so, you may need to get an ipV6 compatible router (most new WIFI routers are), and connect the LAN cable from one of the internet ports on digicels modem to the WAN port on your personal router and you can connect the TVs to any of your LAN ports on your personal router, or via WIFI on your personal router. Personal router should fix the problem, once its due to the switch to IPV6.

Also if you use USUnblock or any other VPN to switch netflix regions, you can program in the DNS servers on your personal router and you would be able to change netflix regions again.

Let us know if this works for you

Would you all have an issue if Digicel was to block Netflix and Torrent?

No matter what I do, pingtest refuses to measure packet loss. But do you really think there is any?

This is only on the CallPlus server though, rest of them like probably less than 5Mbps.

Can you do me a favour and do one to Los Angeles, CA? Time Warner server. Thanks.

So digicel employee here(service technician) so I been reading through the post and have some info for those who may be having problems any questions that I have not answered plz feel free to WhatsApp me 3082955

1. For those people who have IPTV,phone and bb and would like to use a personal router I strongly advise not to as the digicel modem itself gives off two( 2) WiFi signals 5 g and a 2.4 GHz signal ,using a personal router will dramatically drop ur download and upload speeds

2. For those who don't knw what ports 1-4 are behind the modem I will explain port1 - is for Ethernet only example those who want a wired connection ,people with game consoles I suggest u plug in here. port2 ,3 and 4 are for TV (IPTV)

3. For those who may want to move the modem around plz be verycareful with white patch cord as this is a fiber patch and breaks easily u may not see the break outside but the glass fibre inside will break

4.for those who have the IPTV multiscreen can be accessed by pressing 200,300,400,500 ,600 on this screen u can see what is showing before you actually go into it

5. For those who don't want to be scrolling through the entire TV list press the star botton (*) on the remote and a white heart will appear and now that channel will be added to your favourites

6. For those who don't have enough TVs to facilitate everyone in the house if you have a tab or phone that's on android os please proceed to the play store and download DIGICELPLAY app enter your user name which you should have eg.200000003456 and your password eh.123456 and you would then be able to watch same live TV on you phone or tab ( user name and password should be in the user guide if not call 866play)

7. For those who don't knw live TV can be paused and rewinded 2 hrs back also plz notice a white play symbol on the TV screen when u resume play as this indicates your not in real time to get back to real time plz press stop

8. For those who would like to change their password and WiFi name plz open a new internet page 192.168.100.1 and password will be Digicel and Digicel ,you would then proceed to WLAN and their you can change WiFi name 1-32 characters scroll down to weppresharedkey and unhide password and you can then change your password ,press apply after and exit screen NB the two digicel signals will stil show along with your new name you have given your WiFi only connect to the new name you have given your wifi

Any further questions plz WhatsApp me 3082955

For digicel business ask them to switch it to ipv4 and the fowarding is done from the router itself

I am not 100% certain but fibre to home service is strictly IPV6 so you may require to use a router that supports and handle IPV6 and foward from that router. When I get my service will play around and test port fowarding via my own router.

from my experience with the business connections the ipv6 gives real trouble so much so we had to get them to switch to IPv4 PDP for all our clients

Modem and installation is now FREE.

So i take it that it now costs nothing to apply for Digicel once you take a 1 year contract?

Do they have black modems? white is pretty butt ugly not sure why they went with that color, electronics look better in black.

Something interesting I found, in 3rd world countries like Mexico the average price of 8MB DSL is around $140 TT dollars.

So this seriously makes me wonder how does TSTT get off on charging around $700 TT for about the same thing? or charging 1MB for $180 a month?

Many 3rd world countries no longer consider 1mb as something acceptable. Let us see if Digicel can shake things up with TSTT because they are still operating as if they have a monopoly.

Quick question:
Can anyone confirm, Digicel tech or actual customer with working service, is it possible to disable the integrated WiFi on the Digicel modem and use a WiFi router of my choice?
No really feeling any love for Huawei.

Yes. You can disable 2.4GHz and/or 5GHz WiFi.

Or,... customer care can do it for you. But I would suggest you learn how to login. All the info is on the silver-grey sticker.

I am guessing that by the end of this year or early next year Digicel will be ready to activate Piarco?

Any Digicel reps here has an Idea?

I was told by the rep that I was talking to that hopefully by year end
Digicel wants to cover at least 90% of T&T. Key word being hopefully.
Would like a rep to confirm how far their rollout has reached.
