What utter fcukery you posting?

If vehicle is shipped as a rolling shell you'll need to go through the same process as importing a used vehicle roro to licence, just you won't be able to licence it.

If you can get it scrapped in Japan it can be shipped as parts and would only attract those duties.

You still can't put it back together and get it licensed.

I want to buy a 2000 model vehicle in Japan but it is for my personal use for parts, how do I go about doing this?

the best way is to get the dealer to "knock down" the vehicle an have them ship it, that way you don't pay for it, in terms of customs, as a full car but rather parts.
it will be more cost effective than a rolling shell given that you can't license ah 2000 vehicle anyway
