^ doubt it

He was good back in the days but with this new generation of sensitive people who get their feelings hurt over just about anything, can you imagine he still giving he old school speech about how the PNM is a mafia controlled organization? and the Syrians being the parasitic oligarchy? ooh boy and the red beret to boot

Listening to Rambachan and Devant tearing in to each other on 102.1. Never thought I could agree so much with Devant Maharaj.

wow...
I keep telling y'all, they look at their followers as complete idiots-hence they can pull stunts like this knowing only the lower ends of society would enter, and they wouldn't know who to turn to when a prize is never awarded. Don't expect this to go anywhere-not even to Ian Alleyne, their supporters are also known for being very passive. Sad

Why is Kamala apologising for defeat, when she has a pending court case claiming that the election was stolen illegally?

WTF

^ ^ ^ She is cynical (and stupid) enough to believe that she still can fool disillusioned UNC voters.

Either that, or she still sufferin' from "2015 Election Shell-shock"... or "stale drunk"... or both!

I think many people fail to realize internal elections are more ruthless than national ejaculations, there's more at stake for the individual.

Vasant in mix now.

I predicting Kamla winning 40% and Roodal and Vasant each getting 30%.

I love how the UNC FB page moderators does say they support every body democratic rights to run for leader...but they does sound like they spitting it out AND they have to mention that they support Kamla. They cant just stay silent about that in case somebody forgets.

I would surely vote for Dr. Moonilal if he could give me a house...but I guess he can't anymore, hence we have this election.

I think Vasant will become political leader of the UNC, lets face it unless this happens they not winning any election. Who exactly going to vote for Moonilal as PM? and is obvious they not gonna vote back Kamla. And Vasant is the only man there that people in the East West corridor happen to like.

That's big picture talk. Right now I have no idea if the UNC members thinking about winning the next election or just defending thier self righteous image.

I agree.

I'm not sure how they could believe that Kamla can bring something new to change voters minds in 2020 or maybe they just don't care if they sit in opposition for the rest of their lives? What did Kamla really do for them? Her government may have done lots but Kamla herself? They need to get over it and move on. Time for someone new to move the party forward.

My take:

Best Option : Roodal wins. He proves to be publicly incompetent and by 2019 the UNC is ready to give Vasant a chance without cabal interference.

Middle Option- Vasant wins but becuase he is not an MP either Kamla or Roodal is Opposition Leader. The UNC splits for the 2020 eelction and reunites for the 2025.

Worst Option. --Kamla wins. The UNC fossilizes into Kamla worship. Loses 2020. Roodal succeeds Kamla. The UNC doesnt get a chance to reform until after 2025.

I honestly think she is going to take it. Their supporter base is gripped by Kamalamania- it speaks to the heart as well as the mind, and in this case the heart always wins.

Y'all underestimating how powerful her charisma appeals to the masses.

Kamla must know her time is up.

Her delusion should have been shattered by that election, especially as her yes men have mostly abandoned her (not all, they still have some fools in the UNC youth and women's league)

If Kamla wants to remembered as one of the rare honourable politicians of T&T, she should bow down and endorse Vasant come closer to the actual internal election. I am already hearing some unsubstantiated rumours that this may happen. They both have a good working history, so hopefull it does.

Vasant is one of the rare members of the UNC who has a good head on his shoulders. He's smart, decent and has charisma. The country stands to benefit greatly from having a well working opposition under him. Under Roodal we will get more rumshop style politics and under Kamla a self rightous, out of touch and deluded opposition.

Let us see if the UNC memebrs have some sense.

Your best option won't happen. Roodal has been having wet dreams of power since the late 90s. The only way for Vasant to have a clean win is for Kamla to endorse him. She leads on paper in parliament while he dictates the party line.
