WI are epic waste...they should really be a 2nd tier in cricket. WI Bangladesh Zimbabwe Ireland Afghanistan. Can't even say WI will dominate in that grouping either.

The stark reality is that WI not even making 240 wasn't a surprise. Had they made it would have been the upset.

Ramdin does appear to have outlived his purposefulness on that side. It is time to give the Bajan guy (can't remember his name now) a run and let Ramdin come back and focus on 1st class cricket solely. Samuels also doesn't appear to be in any sort of form as well and maybe his place should also be looked at.

TBH none of the batsmen can say they deserve a spot however Samuels and Ramdin as the senior pros deserve singling out more than the others.

Yes, Ramdin and Samuels not contributing with the bat at all...I think the Bajan u'r referring to is Shane Dowrich.

Well let's hope they perform better in the odi's with the likes of Narine and Russel coming into the team.

Well in all ODIs in Sri Lanka WI have played 11 lost 6, won 3 and there were two no results. Statistics say they will likely not do something good in the ODIs.

Ohh and their Highest score in ODIs in Sri Lanka has been 251.... :? :?

it reel harsh to criticize ramdin's batting when he comes in a 7 with just over 100 runs on the board. Realistically, the most, if he scores a hundred he can get us to is 200/250/275. Hardly competitive in test cricket. Samuels is an abject failure, looked totally clueless in the recent series, it was streaming against the spinners. He said in SA that no spinner could dictate to him. whaat a clown

I don't understand what Ramdin coming in at no. 7 or the fact that the top order most likely failed has to do with his batting. He. given the opportunity to bat at any position, should as a senior player steady the innings or add to the runs total. Seeing his current failure in this test series, he should better himself. He has the potential and can change an innings.

Best of luck to him and well Samuels as well *sigh*

Exactly. You cant expect ramdin to retrieve and impossible situation. If bravo and samuels had batted properly in antigua, we would not have needed a ramdin fifty and a holder century

irrespective where Ramdin bats his current contributions are unacceptable as a wicketkeeper/batsman. Had we reached 250/275 in both innings of the last test we would have won it!!

Yeah my point. If Ramdin has to put runs on the board in order for use to at least stand a chance of winning, that is his role. To me all batsmen now are currently under-performing.

With Phil Simmons back, hopefully we would see a change in the ODI's. But to me it doesn't matter the coach, the players themselves need to step up.

I don't think philo would be able to change the caps on the players bottles. He is going to be castrated. you can expect a team full of bajans and jamaicans who dont warrant a place. Haven't you seen E.T AKA Andre Fletcher make a comeback

Off the current crop of international wicket keepers Ramdin is statistically the worst and by quite some measure. I have left Dhoni, Haddin and Brendan Taylor as they are recent retirees and their replacements would not have played much cricket and included both De Villiers and De Kock as they share duties for the Saffers currently.

Our keeper averages a full 7 runs less than the Bangladeshi and almost 10 runs less than the Zimbabwean keepers. In ODIs where your batting place is a significant factor on scores due to need for fast runs in little overs Ramdin is still the worst international keeper.

Career averages are career averages. The Zimbabwean and Bangladeshi keepers would have played quite a lot of cricket in loosing causes. In the past year there would not have been much test cricket for any of the three bottom countries.

News flash, catches don't win matches. There's a reason akram never got much caught behinds. However in the age of Wasim Bari, whom Alan Knott considered to be even better than himself had an average of 15.88 in all forms of the game. Average of one of the greatest keepers to grace the sport.

The Zimbabwean team plays tests every year and a half and up until last year, the case of the bangla team was eerily similar
