Yea this
this what I'm afraid of. Don't wanna get shaft with a $1800 charge

Btw signed up with Laparkan. Bought 3 apparel items on amazon totalling about $80usd, weight about 3 lbs. Cost me $125 to clear. Not too bad at all I think.

Did laparkan clear it for you or did you have to clear it yourself?

What do you all think about Websource for ordering clothes off of sites other than Amazon? I ordered some clothes on sale and ended up paying more to clear it than I actually paid for it lol
What other skybox would you recommend?

Websource charged well on some phone cases ($40) and an oximeter ($60).

Not bad at all.

Those companies that claim that they charge based on "actual weight", do they actually weigh it on a scale? I've found that couriers bill you for more than what the listed shipping weight on the website is.

I dont think so...
Sometimes the boxes come with a shipping weight printed on it...seems they just use back this same weight

If an item is 2.02lbs, you'll be charged 3lbs. Recently, I noticed they'd go with the weight provided on the package. In the case of UPS, 1lb is now the lowest shown and if an item was <0.5lb you'll be charged as 1lb.

With WS you'll pay the actual vat and duties normally unless you get an odd "chance." However, your items normally come as they should aside from the odd opening habit in miami and the color tape. Once it hits Miami and shows up, expect to get it within 48-72 business hours in your hands.

If you already have your skybox address as the secondary address on your credit card and you want to use an additional service like seabox how do you ship to seabox?

Just put seabox address in the shipping address area when ordering and put the billing address as the secondary address?

you can enter the tracking number on the carrier's site and you will see the actual weight as well so u will have an idea even before it hits the skybox company, sometimes amazon's weight isnt accurate on packages

Has anyone ordered CCTV (cameras & DVR) from Amazon through WS?

I'm thinking about it. However, I'm not seeing an option for CCTV under their Inbound Calculator?

No VAT & Duty, correct?

You came out FAR better than me in terms of charges.

I decided to try SeaBox to bring in some car suspension parts. Breakdown as follows:

Parts US$564
Weight 26 lbs
Freight $293.54
Customs duty $1,095
Customs vat $711.75
Service charge $20
TOTAL TT$2,120.79

Not really complaining as using their online calculator the cost is almost exactly as estimated, which I prepared for. It's just that you always just use that as a worse case scenario and hope it's cleared for less

Items were delivered to them in Miami in time for the cutoff for their sailing on Fri 9th Oct and it was delivered to me on Wed 21st Oct. Reasonably quick for sea freight.

yeh. no duties or vat. just shipping. pay for insurance/clear it with the shipping company first by letting them know, in case you run into issues.

Some cards do not work with Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Staples, etc. but from this thread there are users who got through.

Just create an account on Amazon and go forth.

Make sure to add your Skybox Address to your Credit Card so when you want to use it on other sites, the Billing Address would be your Skybox Address which is a US Address.
