That 3-5 second thing is not certain to work even for cars once they traveling way above the speed limit. Worse yet for bikes that are so small that they may be unnoticed.

Do bikes have indicators? I have never seen a biker use one. Also when lane splitting how do I know where the biker wants to go?
It makes more sense to split lanes (once it is not done dangerously). Your beliefs don't change facts. The best alternative would be for drivers to become more aware of their surroundings. With that said, I will acknowledge that some bikers are the problem as they split lanes at ridiculously fast speeds (and I am saying this as someone that used to be part of that problem). I don't know if I deserve the death penalty for that though... Aba?

That 3-5 second thing is just rule of thumb. As a driver you should aim to know where all of the vehicles situated around you are at all points in time. The 3-5 second rule and remembering the relative speeds of surrounding cars helps with that. This practice has saved me from accidents with both cars and bikes already. If I see someone driving/riding recklessly I move aside and let them go on their way (talking about when I'm driving, not riding)

And yes, bikes have indicators but even I wonder if most bikers know where the controls for it is  Personally, I use my indicators all the time. Trying to get other bikers to do the same. Switching lanes and cutting off other road users, especially without indicating, is just wrong regardless of if you are a biker or driver.

BTW ABA, I never defended the driver. In fact I admit that speeding and reckless riding are wrong. All I am saying is that I do not believe it to be an offence punishable by death. That point of view seems spiteful and childish. If you say fine him some big money or take away his license/bike and I wouldn't complain. With all that said, if you are one of those drivers that pull aside to let rider pass just know that my sincere shout out and thank you applies to you as well.

And I still say wanting to get rid of something/someone without even considering other corrective measures is the mark of a little c@nt.

Once you don't carry across the behaviour to the roads then I'm grateful.

Bike man knocked off my wing mirror when I pulled to the left of my lane to give him space to pass in traffic. That idiot didn't even stop. Bikers like that make it bad for the rest. Not giving way to any bike again.

If this so important for you, why not just pay a lawyer to tell you or are you looking for some glimmer to justify your view?

Men very emotional about bike men in this thread. I know as a child you all dreamed about jumping on a nice sport bike, and your ponytail blowing in the breeze, but your balls just never grew to facilitate that so now you've grown a hate for what you deep down wish you could be....Smalls. I'm sure not one of you keep at 80km/hr on the highway. So all who feels death is justified should face the same every time you cross that limit. A simple question was asked just answer if you have the info or go back to watching YouTube videos wishing you could ride some day or atleast have the belly to get back on your bike after an accident instead of accepting your role as a poser who tried and failed.

This isn't a bad idea. I'm actually thinking about promoting safe riding, awareness and tolerance in the future so I'm just gathering information right now. This is actually the first time I've asked a question on here that no one had a proper answer to.
