GOOD ADVICE MUCH APPRECIATED - READ INSIDE

Postby Jahflame » August 21st, 2015, 8:44 pm

I got back a car from the impound lot in Sealots this week, after losing it four years ago. In my opinion the car is in great condition having sat out in the open for so long, which is great. I did not get the key back, so I don't know if it will start, which is probably a good thing. The car was impounded due to a tampered chassis number, so it can not go on the road as is....legally.

What I'd like to know is what are my options with respect to a legal means of getting this car back on the road. If I have to sell it for parts, what is a fair price to get it off my hands?

we need to know the full story..

how did they determine the chassis # was tampered with.?
when u bought the car and transferred did they not detect it then??
did u not know the chassis # was tampered with before / when u bought it.?

how was the chassis tampering issue resolved.?
did they find the correct car for the correct chassis #?
if so, what then is your correct chassis #.?

car can be licensed however you will need to know the correct chassis # to put on the certified copy. failing that..scrap an sell...

if you want to start the car.... replace all fluids including engine / transmission oil...new battery new tyres flush gas tank, lines and rail. clean injectors...fresh plugs...and you SHOULD start

consult a qualified mechanic as theres certain procedures in order to get the car running again.

Much thanks for your detailed response, but I have decided to sell it for parts to save myself all the hassle.

Personally I'd scrap all the driveline and replace with upgraded components and make it a dex. Drag. All rounder
