Hi tuners thinking of booking a trip using Expedia(flight+hotel package).Are they safe/reliable?

I check prices with them. Haven't used them but I've noticed that they usually are about $10 cheaper than booking directly from whichever website.

Ok cool cuz I was reading some of the reviews where people were saying when they got to the hotel they had no reservation for them.

booked all my trips via expedia, cant go wrong with them, you save alot witht heir bundled packages.

I saved like 50% on a townhouse in Orlando by booking flights with Expedia. Would definitely use them again.

travelocity is another reliable option. the similarities between them have me feeling they maybe one and the same tho

Yes but don't pay extra for their travel insurance it's quite bogus.

Booked 5+ trips with them and never had this issue.

I use expedia but still call the hotel 2 days or so after I paid to ensure they have the information.

Be sure to web check in, you can do that 24 hours before your flight.

Cheaper yes, but do your follow up.
Last year November I used Expedia to book 1 room for 8 days at Holiday Inn Express Davie Ft. Lauderdale, paid online with CC. Checked in with no problems. On the morning of the last day, i received a bill for the total charges of approx. $800 USD. Went to the front desk to query and they said they didn't receive any payment from Expedia and it wasn't their problem and I'll have to use a credit card to cover the expense. Now I didn't have roaming activated so i had no access to call expedia, but after pleading to speak with a manager, the manager called expedia and arranged the payment.... i could do without this stress...

So cheaper yes, but you have to be careful, not me again next time i'm booking direct to the hotel.

Quick tip, not sure if it works.

When you are ready to book your flight, delete your search history and cookies and all that bollocks or use a separate browser. I think the website tracks your searches and raises the prices on flights that it knows you will be interested in. So you can search as much as you want but use a different browser when getting ready to book.

Like I said, not sure to what extent this works but if it does I suspect it will be true for all sites. But expedia is safe.

Where do you go to web check in? Expedia or the airline website?
