Fifa Ballon d'Or 2014

Ballon d'Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo and four-time winner Lionel Messi are among 23 players on FIFA's list of contenders for this year's award honouring the world's top player.

The list was compiled by the FIFA Football Committee with the help of French magazine France Football. It will be trimmed to a shortlist of three on Dec. 1, with the winner announced at a ceremony in Zurich on Jan 12, 2015.

The list of 23 contenders:

FIFA also released the 10 candidates for the Coach of the Year award.

The list of 10 contenders:

Bites aside Luis Suarez had a great season, he deserves to be on that list

I'm a huge barça fan but I have to admit that cr7 deserves the ballon d'or, unless messi steps up his game in this short time. I also agree that Suarez should be in that list

Messi takin dat he performed well for Argentina in d world cup n he did well fuh barca as well cr7 is a monster bt at world cup he didn't do anything spectacular d finally 3 is neymar jr, cristiano, messi

Cr7-works hard but overrated
Neuer- could retire tmmrw and still achieve more than the above
