external harddrive......help needed

Tuners, as stated, need help with a 2TB Lacie P9230 external harddrive. Currently it's not powering on and I need the information backed up on it. Any suggestions where I can check to recover the info?
Searched for topic before but didn't find anything.

If it not getting any power at all it might be a problem with the casing and wiring and not the actual hard drive itself. You could probably look at buying a new casing on amazon and putting the hard drive in there.

A partner was telling me to do that. But I didn't wanna risk trying anything like that yet till I find out what's the problem.

Btw, what brands of external harddrive you guys recommend besides Lacia and Western Digital?

Nothing really. Western Digital seems the way to go. I never heard about Lacia though.

Bought a Toshiba for my sis a couple years back and still works perfect.....I honestly thought Lacie was a reputable brand.
Going into datasafe-tt tomorrow to see the problem.

first is either your adapter, if not that or it powers by usb its the casing not working, unscrew, remove drive and hookup internally and it should work. if it doesnt, its the drive.
